After a long arduous wait, the last pieces of my first self built pc finally came in and I could get to work.

While waiting, I just fiddled around with the Antec Three Hundred case, bought a couple fans and installed them along with the 650 PSU (the cables of which would prove to be cumbersome later on).

When the UPS truck finally showed up (god, I hate waiting for them ALL DAY), I quickly opened and inspected the Intel E8400 processor, Asus P5N72-T Premium motherboard, and EVGA 640MB 8800 GTS.

Shiny and new...looks good!

Sorry, Chopper, gotta go to work.

I went to the kitchen and went straight to work, installing the bracket for the cpu fan, screwing in the motherboard, applying the Zalman Thermal grease included with the fan (just dipped the capbrush once for each the contact area of the fan and the cpu.  Installing the sucker over the cpu became a bit of a chore.  My "large" case suddenly started to become alot smaller.

Ah, my tidy work area.

Popped in the included audio card and graphics card, plugged in the power on it.  Then went on to the drives.

Thumbscrews are AWESOME.

It finally came time to hook everything else up to the board and power supply.

LET THE CABLE ORGY COMMENCE!!!  We're talking molex on molex action, filthy full frontal usb and audio jacks, sata on drives, power and reset, you know what it is!  Hopefully  the five case fans can keep it cool.

The cpu cable was a bit late to the party but still managed to squeeze in.  Was able to tuck away the extra cables a bit, still quite the jungle, hope it doesn't fry.  Remember kids, Modular PSU's are your friends.

Finally done with 10 minutes to spare to get ready for work.

Later today, I'll boot it up and see if it will explode or not then install the 64-Bit Vista, updates and etc, then UT3 and Orange Box.  God, I hope it works.

My rig, think I'll name it The Monolith, or Dark Beast, or something.
