Is there an actual fix for it freaking out on high-end PCs? Sad
I totally have something about that in my old pc, let me dig it up for you.  Brb.
Ok, I have this old bookmark

Manually installing it like that fixed all the weirdo problems I had.
Except for the random loss of color of the screen.  Pressing 'C' clears that right up though, so it's not a deal-breaker.  Tongue

Manual installation worked fine here too! As a matter of fact, I just played through both of them again in anticipation for 3 later this year!

I hope Fallout 3 doesn't disappoint.

Did you see the E3 videos? It looks great! I mean, it's been 10 years since Fallout 2, of course it will be different than most people remember, but I'm impressed with what I've seen so far.

Not holding out any hope for well implemented non-combat solutions to problems.

Also don't like how every limb comes off when someone is shot in the head.

The way the screen loses colour in Fallout 1 is really annoying

Im not holding out on non-combat solutions, just like oblivion, its going to be like 90% combat

Also the limb thing, in the videos they have 'Bloody Mess' on, it was a trait in Fallout 1 and 2 that would allow you to see the most horrible deaths possible for someone. Like knocking their heads off with your fists.
My only complaint about Fallout 3 is the main character looks so goddamn ugly compared to everything else in the game. The graphics on him are bloody awful.

Yeah, I've played through the old games with bloody mess, but at least you'd only blow a hole in someone's chest. What they have is like in TF2 where all body parts detach, only it happens with 1 bullet  ???

What, you mean the Gametap service?  I had Gametap for awhile and I discontinued the service because unrelated issues on my PC made it unplayable (which is cured now).  I played several arcade, console and PC games on it including the Windows port of Tony Hawk 4.  The content is going to be in Gametap cache files, so meh on that bit, but when I played a PC game on Gametap there were no intrusive overlays... you launched it, Gametap moved aside and the game took over.  I was satisfied with Gametap and may use them again in the future.
I <3 free gametap.  Anyone up for some Streets of Rage?

And just like oblivion, Fallout 3 is going to allow you to pass on putting skill points into "Intelligence skills" by allowing you to hack and lockpick with a minigame

At least leveling won't be part of Fallout 3, or so they say.

And making all speech options available to dumb characters... This alone makes it fail in my book... It might be a good game but it won't be a good fallout sequel...
