I was thinking how awesome it would be if BRBu had a podcast of it's own. We've become quite an extensive community at some point, I've had good fun day dreaming about where we are and where we're going as a community. A design for the website is in the work and this could very well become quite an awesome thing. The focus here is mainly on computer gaming and such and there aren't many (I don't know of ANY) community sites currently promoting computer gaming.

I personally think a podcast would be awesome, especially if we made it open and accessible to the community members. I love the community we have here and the longer I've been away from TF2 the more I feel like I'm drifting away from the community. A few of the members lost their access to TF2 in one way or another and this would give them a better way to keep in touch. I for one could listen to various members of Brbu talk about nothingness and make jokes and be happy.

I call token Brit, don't want Dave bringing down the quality
What's the point of that? 999/1000 of the internet don't even know we exist.

There are plenty of sites about computer gaming, anyone using the internet is on a computer.  If you want a PC centric podcast, look up the Games for Windows podcast, the guys on it are pretty awesome.

I really don't know what we would do with one or why, just hurry up and get yo' computer runnin so you can play TF2 moar.
I can imagine us spending an entire episode complaining about the backburner.

No offense but if one were to be created it would take at least one person who would be organized and keep things on task.  Random stuff always seems funny in theory but it's usually backed up by a lot of behind the scenes work.  Trust me when you hear something good it just seems easy because of all the work that went into it before hand.

Then there's just cases were people are so entertaining you just put a mic in front of them.  I knew a guy like that once, he was like a cartoon character.  I'd never say anything around him just because I liked to hear him talk so much.  He could make my grocery list entertaining.  Guy didn't even know it either.  Thought people liked hanging out with him cuz he had marijuana.

It would have to be Kor, guys got all the necessities.  Sexy voice, entertaining to listen to even about hum drum shit and organized enough not to make a mockery of the whole thing.  Thing is why would he want to  Tongue....unless we let him talk about/play WOW during.
I call a co-host.  Granted I haven't been active in the community too much but I have tons of PC gaming experience and I am one of the oldest members (behind Kor, Ain, and someone else I believe).  I think I am one of the one who deserves to be on a cast.
Sounds really neat, I'd be totally interested in hearing what's made, and participating if there's ever a need for me to.

You mean me?  You mean me don't you.  I do have some background in journalism.  But that is also the problem...I see all the reasons why this would be tough to do right.  Not that I haven't thought about it before, it would be fun.  But we would need something to talk about, someone to produce it, and some sort of focus.

Would we be reviewing mods?  Doing news?  Talking about all games or just TF2?  Who would be willing to put actual work into this?  Could they stay committed and keep a regular schedule?  We wouldn't want it to turn into a VGcats.

It's funny to pick on me for slacking on the nights I organize but anyone who's done it would tell you it takes some work to remember to put up a thread every week, try and stay on top of what versions of what are out and just getting enough people into the server so it will be fun (as well as actual thought that goes into selecting the mods, trust me I don't just pick them out of a hat).  Even for Dave's spontaneous ZP game I had to run through my list and present convincing arguments to everyone I know who would play to get in the server (most just required ZP!, it's a pretty good argument).

I'm not bitching this is something I genuinely enjoy doing for the community (fights with the wife aside), but I'm just trying to inject a dose of reality.  As cool as a podcast could be it's going to require more commitment than I think the typical BRBUer is willing to give to do properly, and while I'd be willing to help I'm restricted by my life so I would need at least 1 hopefully 2 other reliable people as well as the proper tools to do it.  This is not necessarily even counting the host(s).

Because if we aren't going to do it right it will just be a waste of time, unless just doing it will be fun for you and you don't really care how many people listen to it.  Then it's just something that's fun and you should do it.
In case you were wondering I voted yes though.

Oh heeeeelll no.  We measure from way back in the days of the Destructoid Steam group.  I think that would make Me and Caff the originals.
I'm one of the old guard guys as well :V.
I too was part of the old rule.
