Be Right Back, Uninstalling

Full Version: An important note about Zombie Panic

Zombie Panic has this weird quirk where the previous version will let you play fine on a server running the latest version on some maps.  But on other maps it will give you an error about them not matching up.  I think sometimes it will even try and download the new version and fail.  This confuses a lot of people because they don't realize it is a version issue and instead think it is a map issue like seen on countless other games.

It is, however definitely a version issue.  So if you have this problem or think you have it make sure you check your ZP version and upgrade if needed.  Don't assume that since you installed the version linked in these forums you have the latest.  Unfortunately there was some confusion because I had a link up that went directly to a download of the previous version instead of the site that updates with each release.
I get this occasionally.  When I do I just delete the map from my maps folder and rejoin.  I have to redownload it but it's better than nothing.

Sorry for bugging you via steam about this, Mr. 314.

It seems part of my confusion is that I am not sure which version is correct. I think a lot of folks may be getting confused because they don't list the most recent version on their website.

I started at the Downloads page of the Zombie Panic site, which lists 1.2b as the most recent release. That didn't work.

However, their forums list 1.25 as the most recent release . I downloaded that, but I still got an error on zpo subway. I'm going to try Eschatos's suggestion, maybe I have mismatched versions hanging around.
