I have been researching antivirus programs in relation to their effectiveness, and as I thought many of the major programs have a detection rate of 20-30%. However, from some reviews I have read the antivirus software NOD32 seems be very effective (with a 95% detection rate). Can anyone else attest to this?
I just rely on not downloading shady shit, and the viruses don't happen at all.

In a perfect world where those who download pr0n are not objected to viruses, then such software is not needed. Until then...

Why download porn?  There're so many places you can just watch it online.

I use Avast and its done its job quite well. It's also free  ;D
I read somewhere that Avira has the best detection with the least false-positives.
I am trying it now... the free version likes to spam pop-ups every other day to buy the full version. It's starting to piss me off.
I use Clamwin for when I need a virus scanner and I use clamav on my companies mailserver. It's a very good package and haven't had any problems with it yet. It's also the least resource sapping virus scanner I've ever used.

I'm going to give it a try. Avira is pissing me off.

LOL, well the open source bit is one of the reasons... The Dutch help files aren't though, I can't stand computers or any electronics speaking Dutch to me... the translations are horrible and it just reads so... wrong...
