I'm trying to finish up some work so I can send my computron in for repairs so I'm winging it this week.  I'm picking mods out of suggestions and ones we haven't played.  I'm relying on you to "sell" the mods with descriptions.  When the winner is picked I will try to post a link to the latest version (or you can google it and post it here for me).

If anyone wants to explore for new mods please click the following and post to our suggestion thread  ;D:

Ballmen is this crazy fps where you can run on walls an change gravity.
They were found on page 3 and 4 of the mod night explanation thread.

Ballmen is a multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification that offers classic fast-paced deathmatch with one huge twist: players can change the orientation of their gravity and walk on walls, providing for six degrees of freedom in movement. Available gamemodes are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Scavenger Hunt, which is unique to Ballmen. Future plans include adding a Capture the Flag gamemode. Ballmen features eight weapons, each of which can be bound to primary or secondary fire allowing total flexibility for combinations, and several powerups. A much more in-depth description of the gamemodes, weapons, wallwalking, controls, and powerups can be found in the Player's Manual.

Modular Combat is an action-RPG mod for Half-Life 2. Kill to gain experience, which will earn you levels and upgrade points. Use upgrade points to purchase upgrades or modules for your own personal HEV Mark VI suit.

All combatants must have an account with the arena they wish to compete at. Each combatant will be allowed three different suit configurations. BoSS will monitor the combat and award experience and levels as necessary. If a combatant is doing particularly well, she will award extra experience to that player and place a bounty on their head.

BoSS is not without her faults. She has a great distaste for players who perform poorly, but to be fair, BoSS has a distaste for all players. When given the opportunity, she will spawn monsters programmed to hunt down each player and slaughter them. In accordance with her "fair play" module, she will also award experience for killing them.

The newly redesigned HEV Mark VI Protective System comes with the ability to add near limitless modules and upgrades. These upgrades include things such as Enhanced Medical Subsystems (regeneration), or cloaking. The hazard suit is also capable of controlling up to four minions, ranging from Headcrabs to Antlions to Zombies.

Modular Combat is the spiritual successor to a Quake 2 modification, Vortex. If you have Quake 2, be sure to check this out!

Modular Comabt is a mod I have yet to play, but the idea sounds good. I personally can't wait to DL it and try it out, even if it doesn't win.

I don't think a hardcore modern tactical shooter sim is what most of us want to see in a fresh mod.  Hardcore revolutionary war sim on the other hand, motherfuckin win.  Headstabs are awesome.
