um...I have 250 watts of output power.

Will an 8800 GT or GTS work on my computer?

Edit: Oh man, this is such a mess.

I'm planning on getting a 650 or 800 Watt psu, which will run me up about 150-ish dollars plus tax, then I'm getting a new graphics card will most likely be an 9800 GTX or GT which will run me about 270 dollars.

So as of right now I'm no where near the cost of that.

Maybe half-way.

Ooooooooooooooh maaaan it sucks not having a job or good money intake.

Ummm no. My EVGA 8800GT requires at least 400W with a 12v rated at 26amps. That's probably the same for all 8800GT unless you wanna SLI them. So it looks like you need a new power supply.
I hope you seriously don't have a 250W PSU. :-X :Smile
Yeah.

Talk to us once you get a big boy PSU.

Sometimes, I wonder if Rumsfald is a funny guy off the internet.  MrGrey is a pretty funny guy in real life, but hasn't yet mastered humor in typing.  Is it the other way around for rummy?

I didn't buy the computer, my parents bought it for me.

and they didn't buy it for gaming which disappoints me.
Give it a shot. I want to see if it lasts 3 seconds.
I told my parents to stop buying my shit when I was 13 yo.

Wait, woah woah woah. 250W?

I retract my statement made in the other thread. You need a new power supply altogether.

Though Thermaltake's still a good manufacturer. `w`
I've gotten a decent (600W) supply at sub-80$.

It was open box, I believe. Works fine though. However, the hardware (a gutted Gateway) isn't so hot. Keeps on revving hard and shutting down at weird places.

Though I can still get an uptime of two weeks, so...

Two weeks?  Why would you put your computer through that massive load of tourture?
