Anyone else getting it?
i recently traded in some games at gamestop and they gave me an extra 20% if i put the money towards it and gears 2.
im pretty amped about it since looking up some movies about it (after i invested the money in it)
i cant wait to blow up some mutant zombies in slow mo.

discuss.

Budr

Not really that interested in the tactical stuff but I'm quite looking forward to blasting my way through anything and everything and generally acting like a bit of a wanker.
I think the best question is console vs PC, an honest one not "console is teh suxors, PC 4ever"

What are the advantages of each?  I'm leaning towards console, just because I like playing games on console unless there is multiplayer or it is a hard-core FPS or the console version is gimped or there is going to be a lot of user generated content that I would be interested in.

Never got into it myself but didn't Oblivion having a pretty sizeable mod community? I'd wager that once the editor is released for PC, content will start flowing out.

This because I think the answer to all the other ones was no.  In fact console might be better than PC because I think its a Merc 2 like situation where the console versions are the focus.

Again, I'm in the dark having never played any Oblivion but wasn't the PC version pretty well received? Also, Bethesda have quite a history with the PC, which tends to give a developer a certain respect for the platform.

Everything I've seen of the footage suggests that the action is essentially FPS and, personally, I would never choose console for that gameplay style if the choice exists.

I'm probably one of the few people who owns both versions of Oblivion, and I gotta say: go with PC. The original release is buggy as all shit and there are so many sections in the xbox version that can crash your game, erase your save files, or make it impossible to continue, it's not even funny. At least with the PC version they can patch shit, or you can wait for the mod community to fix it for you.
Im surprised no one said 'in before caff'

Don't buy this shit, go play the originals, they are much much better games.

That being said Ill probably warez it try it, and if I'm not thoroughly disgusted with how bethesda has raped one of the greatest games of all time, then Ill buy it.

This is a valid point and will probably effect my decision.  It really comes down to if the wife has any interest.

too late, i was given 20 extra bucks if i wanted to put the money towards the game. i fully intend to enjoy it no matter how much the older games may be better.

It's a subtle disparity but you have to remember that Caff's just a grumpy old curmudgeon. I'm fairly certain that this iteration of the franchise will not make him enjoy the earlier entries in the series any less.

No, but it means that any attempt to make a new entry that is on par with the old ones will end in disaster. A bunch of xbox kiddies will buy it and love it even though it has the depth of a teaspoon when compared to the Olympic swimming pool that was the first two games.

They could have made their own original IP, made it post-apocalyptic, and no one would be complaining. But I guess that would take too much work.

If you ever get a chance find and download the alpha version that Black Isle made of the REAL fallout 3.

There's less than thirty minutes of actual gameplay footage on the internet.  How can you say it has the depth of a teaspoon?  I'm not expecting it to be as deep as the first two but it'll probably be pretty close.
