A fantastic game in my book. There are glitches, but they don't happen often and are very patchable. I was pretty much hooked from the start. The levels are also a lot longer than I thought they'd be and the force powers even at the lowest stages are very impressive.

I recommend to at least rent it. Anyone else get it?
Is there actually a good story to it or is it more of a beat em up, Im hoping more for a KoToR like game

The Dtoid review was that the story and graphical presentation were incredible but the game play was oddly enough crap.  I also heard some bad things from PA.  Tycho said Gabe probably won't even finish it.  He basically said the first act was great but your force powers are insanely gimped until you level up enough.  And since that is one of the main selling points its not really enough to get you through the second act which I guess really drags.  They said that the third act was pretty decent but takes a bit getting to.

Also I can see what they were saying from what I played of the demo, everything was super pretty and shiny and neat but actually playing it was awkward and seemed like it could get to be a chore.
I've been urging a friend not to buy it, based on the reviews.  Sounds like a rent game.
I am too much of a fan NOT to try it, but also enough of one to keep a level head and think on it for myself when I see it.
Surf that makes me sad, I was sort of looking forward to this Sad

Gameplay is always king, graphics should be one of the last things you work on in a game

From what I heard if you look at it as a movie or a movie complement it rocks.  But controlling the force powers is too awkward and gameplay can just be not so fun.  So its a rental.  Can be enjoyed but not as much when there is a $60 hole in your wallet.
Gameplay is better than most people are saying, everybody else gave it a more reasonable review than PA and Dtoid.

Gamespot gave it a 7.5, and here's Kotaku's (can't say what score they go by because they don't use a numbering system)

I'll play it if it comes in trade at work or if we open one up to rent, I don't have enough money to buy games right now. Sad

There is a demo up on XBL, so don't forget that if you want to try it

also half tempted to just read the book, but I'd like to enact everything myself and get the satisfaction of force pushing everybody off of a ledge
I'm going to wait and rent it, I have too many games I'm looking forward to and I need to manage my money if I'm going to get them all.

But I'm on my 3rd 360 and still the first PS3.  For that reason alone I will always prefer getting things for the PS3.  Especially since I got burned no lie spending a weekend calling and visiting every game store in Gainesville and Ocala, finally finding the last GHII in the area.  Then coming home to a RROD.
Might buy the Wii version for lightsaber action. Will also count as a coupon for a free copy of the PC version.  :-X
The gameplay isn't nearly as bad as people put it out to be. Yes, the targeting system needs work, but you get used to it..it is not bad at all.
Beat it tonight..so epic..seriously..if you haven't played through this then you deserve a Sith Punt.

exanimo

In my opinion the last good Star Wars game that came out was Super Return of the Jedi...The Jedi Knight games were okay too I suppose.
will this ever come on PC?

Ostensibly the physics are too integral to the gameplay and don't scale down to anything below a top-end PC. I would have expected them to port the PS2 version under these circumstances but I guess it's a welcome surprise that they aren't. Rather nothing than a half-assed port of a shitty version of the game.

i just beat it last night. this game is a worthy renter, the story is pretty awesome in terms of what happens between ep 3 and 4 (correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not a SW buff)

sure it had its bugs once in a while, but it made up for them in being super fun :-*
