ok, money is not coming as soon or as much as Id hope, due to some problems beyond my control. So I ask for help once more... my price has dropped to around 1600 bucks, hopefully by xmas I will have it. Anyway, I need a new comp list. I would still hope for a quad core, 4 gigs of ram, a vid card with 1 gig, and for hdd.. I dont know, I want a lot but the 1 terabyte not needed I suppose... 500 gigs? so yea... and as far as looking for the parts, could you use http://www.ncix.com/ ... I like newegg but meh, I cant buy from them... so yeah.. this would help me much. Im looking for a monster rig within this budget and stuff. Also, my current rig is failing at gaming right now, card keeps crashing or some shit, vpu recover or whatever, Ive lowered all settings and res. to their lowest and I still get like 8fps in game.. and then it crashes. I dont know... so yeah.. halp Big Grin

Why build a rig now for you to get in three months, by which time it will be completely obsolete?
Keeps me entertained o.o

That's a pretty strong exaggeration there. Sure, it won't be the bleeding edge anymore, but by that time the price will have also dropped on half of the parts so the price won't be as painful either. He'll still be getting some perfectly viable bang for his buck all in all.

If it was considered "completely obsolete" in three months' time, well shit, just call my system a Commodore 64 then.

Regardless, I think just replacing the failing video card is wiser than getting a whole new rig, but I'm not sure what kind of opportunity you may have to even do that. I dunno.

My sincerest apologies, I'll make sure to be perfectly literal in all further posts.
I second Budr's sentiment. Prices on certain components fluctuate too much, many other parts will be discontinued; most rigs in the build-a-rig thread only last 2 months at most before a majority of their parts are discontinued and you can no longer assemble said rig. Ask when it's closer. Smile
This never stopped the first thread o.o

i was just tryign to find out what you meant by that then.
your reply cleared it up for me.

what you should have said in the beginning was that having other people make a parts list keeps you entertained. thats different. now no one will make one for you because they dont want to feel used
That would be a first I guess o.o meh, thread locked
