Be Right Back, Uninstalling

So, after seeing Surf's topic, I decided to pick up HL2 again and try and finish it. I loaded up my latest save (which was in the water hazard chapter) and got back into it. Everything was going fine until I got stuck, just like last time I'm at this junction where on one side is a closed gate and on the other are two wrecked ships, with no apparent way to get by. I've searched countless FAQs, but due to the nature of the game, finding help about a specific area is incredibly difficult. Any idea I took some screenshots, in case that will help:







Any ideas? I really like the game, but this hover craft shtick is starting to wear thin

start the chapter over if there's literally no way. (I think you should be able to go through the two ships.

I can't My only save was from the point before this. I tried going through the ships (and under for that matter) but I just can't fit Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Yeah... I'd say restart the chapter. Might be a scripted event you should've triggered but didn't.

If memory serves, you can start a new playthrough from the beginning of any chapter you've already reached. Try hitting New Game at the main menu.

No no. If you start a new game, you can start at the beginning of any chapter you've at least visited. Sucks because you'll lose your gear, but that's easy enough to get back.

Wait a second, I just realized I may be going backwards >.< I'll try to circle back and then restart the chapter if that doesn't work. Thanks for the help guys!

I also got extremely turned around at this point and also when the ship is dropping all those bombs on me; I went ALL the way back without realizing it the first time. :/

That area is vaguely familiar to me.  Could it be that area where you have to get out of the boat and fight through a combine base to push a button?

Don't feel bad I keep quitting HL1 because I can't figure out what the hell to do in the beginning when all shit breaks loose.  Seriously I go up the elevator and people are hanging out and I can't get out the security door.

I believe that this is one of the two times you have to do that. IIRC, there's a side-path near those two boats (probably to the immediate left or right of where SWPM took the screenie) to an area where you then need to dock & dismount.
