There is a BIG reason Valve left grenades out of TF2.

They replaced them with Crit Rockets, which piss people off even more than grenades do, at least you can LEARN to use grenades. And by learn I mean learn to use them and how to cope, a crit you can't.

I see no problem with these if its like 2 per life and they don't have the regular pine-apple nades they had before. EMPs for engineers were the counter to stickies, instead of simply blowing them away it actually would safely detonate them.
This is all true, but I can still see how this would sap a lot of the fun out of the game. I guess I'd have to try it, but if it does go on the server I think it should be a very limited deal. Just my opinion though.

Could always test it on an FNF if he ever releases it. If you noticed too the spy/scout/engi do zero damage. Due to how far they fly in source I would think these on the whole would be defensive.

Make it like 1 or 2 per life, with no resupply and you're golden

Soldier - Very limited range, good for temporarily blocking a hallway

Engi - Anti-spy/demo the two things they fear the most, seeing as its already easy as fuck to take out a gun

Medic - Useful for healing someone you cant reach due to heavy fire, not much else, timing/range on the nade makes it bad for using in heavy combat and it doesnt overheal

Heavy/Demo - Spam for SGs and halls

Pyro - ?? Likely flaming floors for area denial

Sniper - Perhaps some kind of flashbang? something to get away when confronted at close range

Spy - good for running away and getting OMGWTF facestabs

Scout - Defensive or jumping to reach a higher area
Yea I saw most of them. I have to say the more I see it the less skeptical I get. As long as it doesn't kill the fun and balance.
I'd only like to see nades on as sorta a voting option for goofing around and whatnot.  The nice thing about brbu is that it's basically standard TF2 without modded asshattery.
What the fuck?  Hell fucking no.  Most of them look worthless, except the totally broken spy grenade, and all of them are fucking ugly as hell.

Agree with you 100%

If there's gonna be grenades, remove crits, and make the grenades fucking worth something. Hell, make the grenades crit, and remove random crits from everything else. Then maybe I'll give it a shot.

I played TFC long before TF2 and medics never had healing nades in TFC either.
Mm. I'm not nostalgic enough about TFC that I would support this. They're very good concepts, and very well-realized, and I suppose for the people that still pine for the original they could also be extremely gratifying. But I also believe that toying with the balance of this game, however cautiously, lies in a realm beyond just "risky", and could potentially ruin the game for a metric fuckton of people: namely, those of us who prefer the game's second iteration.

If you do push it in, I'd say leave it on our test out, on TFT. Put on a stock map (to make things as balanced as possible to start) and then toss in the nades, we'll see how it works out. The mass exodus of players is a good heads-up.

My vote, until then, remains a firm no.

Fuck grenades.  There's nothing more fun than getting killed by a random spammer fifty feet away from you.
