Steve Miller Band is playing at Gator Growl which is my alma maters pep rally.  It's supposed to be one of the biggest if not best pep rallies in the states.  So the big question is I really want to see SMB because they rock, but I don't want to have to put up with laym pep rally crap or the really dumb frat jokes and so on.  There is supposed to be a comedian too but I don't know him.  Jon Reep?  Looks kinda meh.

edit: he's that guy in the commercials who says "that thing got a hemi?"  Also as with all UF events I'd have to deal with awful parking and expensive tickets.
I like Steve Miller... I say it's worth it
no, pep rallies suck.

lololol UF

Speaking of pep rallies, I got to spend four hours today preparing for/participating in one for my school, as part of the cross country team.  Somehow this involved running back and forth from the beginning of the parade route to the end for no reason.
No because I don't know about any of those things you mentioned.
I find John Reep pretty funny. His humor is kind of low brow/redneck though (don't judge me >Sad ). He had a Comedy Central special so you can go search the site if you're interested.

I'd put up with pep rally shenanigans to see a pretty good band and a decent comedian.
I say yes.  Unless you're too passive to mess with the "lame" you could make it into a really fun time.

Jerk you should go and then it would help me make up my mind.  Also the big band and the local bands are usually great and the comedian is usually pretty good.  I saw Cosby at a gator growl.  The problem is there is a lot of like "2 bits 4 bits" nonsense as well as homecoming queen/king and student made "entertainment."  Some is pretty good, some suck.  There is a lot of frat in jokes.  One that was really harsh but I found funny was there was a pop band that played when they were at their brief height and then everyone realized they were shit.  It was actually right when they played they hit their downward spiral.  Anyways the next year they did this video "help me I look like X" where x was the lead singer (don't remember the band or the name).  And the video was just him getting beat up and stuff thrown at him.  If I remembered the band it would be funnier.  They did some song with "spread your wings and fly" or something as a lyric.
My vote is subjective. Do you own some kind of portable vidja game device such as a DS? If so, then go and just play during the pep rally crap.
I'm going to say that it depends on how willing you are to have fun. If you're just going to sit there and be pissed off at the college stuff going on I'd say don't go. If you're willing to say "fuck it" and at least try to have fun no matter what then I'd say yes. Smile
I saw SMB live at Riverbend a few years back.

It's worth it.
somone mod the poll so that it ends with a result of 50-50
Smile
what's a pep rally D:?
we should endeavor to keep the poll even.  I have already balanced the poll, now, votes must come in pairs.

Pep rallys are like these weird events in schools with big sports teams.  Everyone just gathers and yells out things like how much they are going to kick ass this season.  Also the players get introduced and everyone cheers them.  I never really got the point actually.  Guess I don't have a lot of pep.

Most colleges make their pep rallies into entertainment events too with music and comedy acts.
