Totally deserves a thread to itself marking its release. All that work has finally come into fruition.

REJOICE! Big Grin Goodbye productivity...
No idea when or if I'll ever play this, but regardless kudos needs to be given to the people who worked on it. Lots of these projects never get finished, so it's always good to see one that does. Smile
Fuck, got stuff to do first today =<
Got through Chapter 1 and about half (I think) of chapter 2, its pretty sweet so far
Holy crap I made a post after so long :O

I didn't really enjoy it when it wasn't translated but I gave the translated version a shot and played it for a few minutes. Then it was 9 AM.

Then I played it again.

Currently a ways into chapter 7, and Fassad's eating me for breakfast. I'm stuck grinding for a while, I guess. :<

Yea, I almost lost that battle too, I was down to Lucas/Kumatora both on mortal damage when I finished him off

Offsense/Defense up and down help a lot.
I was expecting the beginning to be more like Earthbound and I start playing through chapter one thinking "This isn't funny at all.  This is depressing"

Such a great game.

Question:  What do you measure the beat by during combat?  I try to time the hits with the different beats and it never seems to work.  Best I can do is mash the A button when I confirm my attack and I'll usually get two hits.
it's hard to get used to, you can beat it without it, it just helps immensely if you get used to

there's  seperate notes that chime in when you start attacking that tell you when to hit the button, but I haven't really managed to tell which one it is
got a 16-hit combo yesterday 8)

As I said in a different thread, emulators have a timing error between button pressing and and response in game. If you ctrl-alt-del, then find the emulator exe set its priority to 'Real-Time' or 'Highest', this will devote more processor clock-cycles to the exe and help close that gap, making combos easier.
I've just been pressing to the beat of the music and get 16 hit combos all the time... I'm using actual hardware so I don't have any kind of emulation delay.
Using Duster's Hypno-pendulum makes the beat stand out clearly.

An ant told me this.
Is the combo beat something different from the beat of the music or not? You guys are talking about doing all kinds of silly stuff to get the beat. Has me getting 16 combos from the music just a coincidence?

No you are just pro I suppose.  I can never hear the beat precisely.  Plus I haven't done what Caf said to do and put the game in "real time"

I think it may just be that you have an odd auditory response or good muscle memory. I can hear the beat, its the delay between pressing the button and the corresponding registration of the press in the emulator, its not instantaneous like it should be.
Just started playing today, and finished Chapter 1.  I'm really enjoying it so far, and I managed to get an 11 hit combo on the mecha-dinosaur at the end of the chapter. Big Grin

I guess some of us just aren't on your level Spore Tongue

If you have a hard time clearly hearing the beat, put the enemy to sleep and wear headphones if necessary. When the enemy is asleep, you will hear a throbbing bass beat stick out which is what you need to time your presses to.
