Who's getting it?  Considering its reviews it sounds like an awesome game.  The single player looks epic and I hear the multiplayer will be great too.  Also level editor looks pretty amazing.
I went ahead and pre-ordered. I like the fact that your guns can jam a vehicles break but you can fix them and shit. Also lighting things on fire.
Will get.

Damn, nice profile pic Mission.  I just noticed that.
This is going on my list once I get Gamefly.  I've decided that I'm going to stop buying games unless I think it will be worth keeping forever since I'm a game trading whore.
I would've had it, but it apparently didn't ship till just today to my area, so I won't be able to play it till tomorrow.
Hated 1, will not buy 2

I dont like playing games where I can't see shit (exception being doom 3)

What are you talking about?  With the exception of the indoor bits the entire game is open and you can see great.

Have not played 1, is there an awkward over the shoulder view?

It's all an FPS, except for vehicles where you can choose between 1st and 3rd person.

This isn't even the same developers, and the game takes places in Saharan Africa, so I wouldn't be too worried about it being hard to see...
Plus the game has no mutant power stuff from the original, it also has a more open story and different ways to complete missions.  It seems a whole lot different from the original, including weapons that eventually wear down, vehicles that can be repaired, and medic stuff that includes fixing broken arms (That shit is freaky in the game lol)

There's not mutant power stuff in the original either... unless you played the XBox version.  That's a different game too c.c'
I never played one, but 2 has me intrigued.
Started playing this tonight, only about an hour in and still undecided. It's definitely got that GTA-style open world thang going on - safe houses, icons popping up to go get missions and shit - which I'm not really into. Graphics are a bit disappointing, got everything except AA maxed out and it's not really popping, some of the lighting and such is nice but it has that horrible kinda clinical, shiny plasticine look happening. Some pretty satisfying weapons though and mild curiosity, if nothing else, is driving me to carry on playing.
I played for a few hours and I'm liking it.  It's like a mix of GTA and Mercenaries 2, though no cool airstrikes lol

Don't have any real complaints so far.  Graphics are great and must not be super taxing cause my PC handles it with pretty much perfect framerate on the highest settings. I like the weapons and how the vehicles handle.  Missions are actually kind of interesting, though there is alot of unnecessary traveling I think.  Sure it would be too easy to just get called on missions, but alot of my time is just traveling to get too somewhere with only a few minutes of actual fighting at the objective and taking out patrol jeeps.

I do got one mild complaint and that they took a page from the older Grand Theft Autos by making AI super drivers.  For some reason they can always catch up, though I can't push the same jeep any harder and sometimes they'll do unnaturally fast turn arounds to chase.  That is very stupid when the AI has the vehicle advantage.  Not that they aren't easy to kill, but it takes away from the realism the game is trying to bring.

There's a good collection of weapons too.  6 to 8 Primary weapons (AK47, FAL, Silenced MP5, Shotguns, etc..), 5 to 7 Secondary (Pistols), and 4 to 5 Special Weapons (Rocket Launcher, Flame Thrower, PKM, etc).  Keeps things abit interesting than being only stuck with 2 or 3 basic weapons.

Medical stuff is interesting too.  Health is basically syringes that you can store on you, your bottle of maria medicine that bothers you occasionally, and when your health gets to the last bar, you have to perform a bullet extraction if that's what caused it.  Had to do it 3 or 4 times now and each one has been different, whether it be digging a bullet out of my arm or digging it out of my leg and I had one where I was forced to either push the bullet through my arm or pry it out with my fingers.  Wasn't too sure what happened at the time, but it looked nasty lol

But I'm abit easier to please than others, so I'm less critical unless things are just plain obvious like bad AI or god awful graphic issues.
Maxon would you mind posting specs?

I'm curious to try it, but not sure how well I'd run it. :<
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz
2gb RAM
512mb Radeon 4850

It's not a bad spec, but there are plenty of better systems out there I think lol
