I attended a lovely air show in Lafayette, Louisiana on Saturday.  I paid for it with a bout of heat exhaustion that ... yeah, not reliving that again.  BUT!  Prior to my violent illness, the air show kicked incalculable amounts of ass.  The temperature was 80 F and the sky was absolutely pristine.  The only clouds to be found were from the smoke trails.  It was *perfect*.  Hell, it was crystal clear today, too; I saw the tail end of the Thunderbirds' exhibition as I was driving back home today, and I was on the ass-opposite end of town.

It featured F-15s, an F-18, the USAF Thunderbirds in F-16s, several piston-powered solo and team exhibitions (an Extra 300L, a P-51 Mustang, a Russian YAK-52 (?) and more), a Coast Guard Sea Dolphin rescue simulation (they picked up a guy off the runway ^^), and static displays of a Hurricane Hunter and a KC-135 Stratotanker.  Aircraft get me going quite a bit.

Anyway, take a peek if you're bored.  I just wanted to share <3 .

I also have some movies. My friend's digital camera took shaky yet respectable footage.
Oh sweet! I haven't been to an airshow in years.  :-X

They didn't happen to have RC hobby planes at intermission or anything, did they?
No RC stuff, though that would've been cool.
Grade A stuffs
Nice pictures. Been ages since I've been to an air show. Pretty cool to see the old prop plane fly next to the modern jet and see the massive size difference. Smile
