IGN just posted their review. From what I've seen, it's basically what everyone predicted.

Summary:
-Presentation is too text heavy and definently for kids.
-Music is great, but sound effects can get annoying
-Graphics look great and fit the theme.
-Gameplay is unique, but definently not for everyone. Die hard fans of the older games seem disappointed.
-If you can dig the single-player you'll be set for a while, but online play is not that great from what I heard.
Old one on the N64 was decent, probably not gonna bother with this, RIP Rare

Banjo-Tooie is seriously one of my favorite Childhood games, and it still stands pretty well.

Fuck. Well, I loved you while you lasted, Rare.

[/quote]When I was a kid, I was gonna grow up and go make games at Rareware and it was gonna be awesome.  Then Starfox Adventures came out and they got sold to MS, the dream and the company all sort of died together. :-\  Jet Force Gemini is still one of my favorite games.
RIP Rare  :'( I used to play Conker on N64 everyday after school with my friends.
I need to get the old Banjo games for 64, hard to find them super cheap though.  Have Conker for 64 and XBox though.  And JFG.
Yeah, I played the demo and really wasn't all that impressed. Looked good enough and I'm sure you could have fun with the vehicle builder, but just didn't compel me to play.

Plus it did that annoying thing some games do, where it has text that scrolls by faster than you can read it without giving you the option to stop it.

hell yea fuckin' JFG. That shit was ballin man.
For the older fans, BK 1 will be out on XBL the same time as Nuts and Bolts I believe with Tooie coming next year.  Achievements in BK unlock parts in Nuts and Bolts.  I played the demo and the game seemed enjoyable, but they pulled a Dead Rising and made text on the verge of unreadable.  And with a game that is all text, it's really not cool.  They even acknowledged it and said they won't fix it.  Is it really that hard to test out your game on a fucking standard tv?  Just pisses me off that something minor will be a thorn in my side till whenever I get a HDTV.

The only way to play BK is with one of these:

Here's what I want to know.  There is the obvious dick reference in nuts and bolts.  Why haven't any of our board pervs taken advantage of this.  Have they gone soft?

Banjo-Tooie has an epic innuendo in it. It took me forever to find this image.
