Same plan this week so below is the copy pasta. I still haven't resolved the issue on my main box, so either one of two things is going to happen, either A - I repair my XP installation, or B - I reinstall on my laptop. I will reinstall on my laptop as a contingency should I be unable to fix things on my desktop. If anyone would like to try to help me fix my desktop without having to wipe XP that would be appreciated. I know the name of the .sys file boot is hanging on, I have it written down at home, so any help scouring the googles for a solution would be helpful.

Also, I plan on attempting to act like the guy from the onxyia wipe animation, at least for part of it. So LISTEN THE FUCK UP

By not playing last last week you missed the following...

- Dropping the gal on top of the drop and everyone dying
- Suicidal drops
- Massive failure
- Some lulz
- Stealthy Ninja drops dicking over second fronts
- Why is that guy at the bridge head...god damnit...

For This Week:

Required: 1 vehicle cert (Armored Assault 1 & 2 (3), Ground Transport (2), or Assault Buggy (3)), Engineering (3)
Recommended: Medium Assault, 2nd Vehicle Cert, Rexo

Just for explination purposes to newbies:
Armored Assault 1 & 2 = Lightning & Magrider
Ground Transport = Aurora, Deliverer, and Leviathan
Assault Buggy = Thresher & Skyguard

Time: 7pm cst

Ventrilo is mandatory

If you make a character please post their in game name here

Fun in this game increases exponentially with the more people that join up so I hope to see more of the people that stated they were interested in the initial thread to come out, the game is FREE, but you are restricted to BR6. If you get "suspended" or banned since the trial accounts are loopholes just make another one. Conversely you can spend $20 to pick up the game at direct2drive, which comes with a free month, this removes the restriction on your battlerank.

TRIAL INSTALLER

Remember, the trials sometimes will RANDOMLY suspended you, just a heads up.

IMPORTANT: Run the launchpad.exe in 98/95 compatibility mode, if you have an Athlon processor make sure you download their Dual core optimizer

You betta get yo shit fixed.  Also I don't understand why it's a big deal to wipe the XP partition, do you have a lot of stuff installed on it or something?  Since you make it sound like you were using x64 Vista as your main OS now.  Only OS level problem I've had is it losing track of where it's supposed to boot from or something, but that was a fairly well documented and fixable problem...

This is some driver error, what I don't want to do is accidentally destroy the ability to choose which to boot to or be unable to boot to either. In the past  had redhat nuke my XP installation once, separate drives and everything and after installing it, the boot sector on my main disk got messed up royally Sad
Probably be thar.
Won't be able to make it this week, have fun
Aaaaand no one playing TF2, so guess I'll go make a new char for this...

Also actually don't know when I'll be home tomorrow.  Hopefully sometime reasonable if anyone else is actually playing it.
I should be there, although my mic volume will need some tweaking since I'm at a different desk in this new apartment.

YAY FINALLY DONE MOVING CITIES

Now to finish unpacking the kitchen goodies... see you all tonight!
So, even though nobody was there, it was hella fun.  Yay.

Caff's old PS friends don't count ;P.  Maybe if they get Reserves up and running someday we'll be able to get serious support for this... I wanna do an air column of like 12 Reavers sometime.  Then we can have a squadron name and numbers and call off groups to assault targets and shit and it would be awesome.

i've never booted Planetside. How much pre-saturday work does one need to do to get the required Certifications that Caff posts?
not much. you have enough points to get all of the required certs, but it shouldn't take long at all to get enough cert points for the additional recommended certs.

Playing through the tutorials and trying out the equipment and vehicles will get you to level 4 easy enough, and that's usually enough for some basic certs.  Takes about an hour or so, maybe a little longer when you first do it.  I'm on my 5th character now I think ;P.
