I hate building in midtowers, but other than that, nice. Smile

Here's your list. I didn't include the fans because that's a personal choice on your part. Just search Slayer 120mm and pick up a couple if you want them.

i very much like this build

Definitely much more sensible. Probably a little late now but as a point of discussion, I'd still say that CPU is overkill. The Core 2s are insanely easy to OC, so buying the top end ones seems futile. I bought my Q6600 well over a year ago, clocked it up to 3.0GHz on day of purchase and it's been running steady as Iraq ever since.

Also, still can't believe the 280 is in the build. Joel's prerogative obviously, to spend his money how he wishes but the price to performance curve seems to suddenly get very steep around the 2xx series. I guess basically, what Duck said.

I tried to tell him the E8500 was a much better buy and that the quad vs. dual is still a negligible argument at this point, but he likes quad so quad it was.

omg joel you forgot to buy a bag of screws to mount all that stuff
we assumed you knew they came separate

Oh fuck I totally forgot, the question though would be what metal, copper is a tad bit more expensive than the aluminium or steel but will conduct heat more readily.

Shit, does canada still use phillips head screws as standard? most of the newer computer parts use Torx screws as standard (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx). I don't see torx screwdrivers being sold separate, but there is one in this kit http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.asp...6899261004. Joel, you should probably check with the manufacuters to see which ones use Torx screws so you can get enough.

Also probably need some gold plated ion neutralized monster cables to hook up the sound.

lol
I am at a lack of words >.>
About processors: do 89W proc. produce a large amount of heat? I'm thinking about getting the AMD X2 3.1 Ghz and it's an 89W. I don't want to risk overheating the machine.

Really depeneds, are you in a mid tower or smaller, and what kind of cooling do you have right now? (number of fans, sizes, location)

Chances are no, you're not going to overheat your machine if you're in a mid tower or larger and have any cooling in there at all.
it's slightly larger than a midtower and I have the case open with a big fan blowing air through it.

I'll put a pic up (somewhat) soon.
My Little Frankenstein (I can't wait to get a new case so I don't have to bear the sight of Dell anymore).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That shit is awesome.
That's what happens when you get your videocard in the mail and realize it's too big to fit in the case.

And only then realize Antec is silly and your PSU cables probably don't reach the shit they need to get to.
