Yea seriously everyone in this community that doesn't have it yet should buy it now.  Wanna know why?  Mods.  HL1 still has some damn good mods that were never updated for HL2 because the groups responsible for them either got kick ass jobs making games you have to pay for or the group broke up and went emo and hang out on IRC all day putting as much technical jargon into conversations as possible.

Opposing force was confusing and blue shift was boring.

OP was fine, BS was ok but not great, but the best SP stuff is all mods.  Get Azure Sheep and a few others.  Plenty of fun to be had there.
