So, my laptop cooler cable has gone missing on me. Just like the topic says, that's the specifications. I'm just looking for a power cable. Do these things seriously not exist on a retail level outside of having to drop more cash to replace the whole thing?

This is the only place I've seen that actually offers legit bulk pricing and real shipping costs for all kinds of cables. Unfortunately the shortest one they have is 6ft, which is probably excessive, but ah well. It's only like $3.

What's wrong with the cables you're finding? I thought USB does transfer power, just not lots. The fans in a typical laptop cooler don't need much power.
edit: or are you just not finding USB A male to USB A male?
lol karrde posting about male/male
All the cables I've found that are actually A Male to A Male are strict data only and don't do power. As in the device requires its own independent power supply. That one might work though, wedge. Also, insert requisite gay joke here
I have one from my retarded Chinese knockoff iPod dock.
You may be better off just making one.
On a related note, why the fuck does a USB A to A cable even exist? The whole idea behind the USB A and USB B standards was to have A on the computer and B on the device. Making it A to A is just asking someone to plug to computers into each other and cause damage.
Power and the cooler also acts as a USB hub so you aren't wasting ports just for power
But yeah I suppose USB A -> B woulda made more sense.
*Edit*
How the fuck would you just make one anyway?

Get two old USB mice/other devices; chop off the cables.
Now you have two USB A cables. There will be four wires inside, just match the colours.
The colours should be the same, I've made a bunch of other cables this way and I have yet to see someone deviate from the 'standard' colour scheme.

Well shit, now I'm tempted to.... Either way, I've got enough old usb stuff lying about that this shouldn't be a problem.
*edit*
Ok yeah, I can see the wires...gonna need to find a way to keep all 4 seperate...prolly a hell of a lot of electrical tape. Damn tiny wires, already broke one trying to strip it...
