Would anyone be interested in doing a tribes night every once in a while and also which version 1 or 2?

Never played either, but two is higher than one.

If you just wanna ski around fast shooting at eachother with spinfuzors, it's easy to grab a bunch of people to play Legends, and then nobody has to get a game or server or anything.  Except they only have rockets.  But it's still pretty cool.  I doubt you could get enough people together to make the expanded depth of playing an actual Tribes game worth it anyways.

i actually have tribes 2, but i imagine tribes 1 can be acquired a certain way and i think it'll even work online.

edit: F. the patch isn't working under vista64 O_O

editedit: here's an EXE that'll make tribes work under vista64: http://nofix.annihilation.info/T1Vista.rar (extract this to your tribes directory and launch tribes using this)

tribes 2 is also a freeware, they made it that way before the piece of shit release that was tribes vengeance

also, i only played tribes 2

edit: forget it, no more keys are available any more, so i guess it would be better for those that don't have 2 that we just get on 1.

mmkay, if anyone has issues with running tribes or installing the 1.11 patch, i downloaded a torrent with the patch pre-installed and that separate EXE to run under vista64. i can upload it somewhere for everyone else to dl :-*

I thought just changing the exe with the other automaticly updated to 1.11

maybe, but would it work in vista64? i mean it launches and everything, but the screen is messed up and the mouse/keyboard have no response.

from what I've tried, yes

You know there isn't a master server for T1 anymore, so we'd all have to manual connect to someone now too.

Seriously, if anyone just wants a quick match of Tribesy style gameplay, we can go heres->  http://www.instantaction.com/

They're also gonna have a new version of the mech game I did some work for, Dark Horizons: Lore on there sometime, which I thought was pretty fun back when I played it.

Ah OK, the second method it gives you doesn't work.  Tried it with the first one and it's fine tho.
