Would anyone be more likely to play this if I rented a BRBU server? Obviously I would Tongue

Umm, I dunno Tongue, have you heard of a better one for the price? It's $1.49/slot for public servers, which is pretty good. I was thinking maybe a 20 or 24 slot server?
Not really into CoD, but I'll play if you guys do.
I don't have it.....yet.
It's another game to pull people in... :-*

i havent posted anything in your other thread 'Call of BRB' because it seemed like you wanted people to get both games, which is dumb.

based on Rumsfalds review though , i would lean to a 'no'
WaW to me still isn't justifiable for me as a $50 dollar buy. Again, COD4.

So, since my single player review, I have played about 10-15 hours of co-op.

It is better than single player, but that is not saying much. The highlights
-It's playable, but I expected a ww2 shooter to be slow paced, but it is fast, like almost q3 fast.
-Once you get used to the controls, it is hard to see how the gameplay is any better than Day of Defeat. Sure it is a bit prettier, but I said gameplay.
-Drivable tanks are gimmick-y and quickly get boring. Battlefield 2 had much better drivables.
-As a fairly dedicated PC FPS player of Doom, Quake, Quake 3 arena, Rocket Arena, and Counterstrike, I can wholeheartedly say that CoD4 on the Xbox is by far better than World at War on the PC. I'm pretty sure it isn't the xbox that made CoD4 better.

Also:
---separate executables for single and for multiplayer is so fucking 1999. Which means separate video and control configs for each. such coding is so lazy to be inexcusable
---speaking of 1999, check out the server-browser. And don't think that just cause they sell it on steam that you can join a friends game, if you try it will launch the stupid single player exe (see above).
----Did you say 1999, cause the game has it's own in-game browser that looks JUST LIKE quake 3 and friends list, so you have to re-add your own friends. and can only add them from in game. assuming they have also launched the game. which means 1) you start playing, 2) friend sees you playing, 3) friend launches game, 4) friend sends steam-message to you asking to be invited to game, 5) your friend hits escape and goes through 3 menus to invite you to the game, 6) you go through several menus to find the invite, because, god forbid, you don't get a pop-up notifying you of the invite, 7)? ? ?, 8 ) PLAY. YAY.
---When you play, you can make a squad full of team mates. But, every map change you need to re-create it, and they need to re-join it. Prepare to spend the first 10 seconds of every game doing that.
---Half the servers I seem to join have Hardcore mode on, which is basically instagib. with 32 players. which is stupid.

All that said, it is a playable multiplayer game if you have friends to play with. It's not terrible, and I've been playing it, but I would not recommend it. I would have rather bought the pc version of CoD 4, or Battlefield 2 (again) plus a sixpack.
