Your problems are over.

*blink*KILLER GAMING NETWORK CARD*blink*
  • GET DATA TO AND FROM YOUR GAME FASTER SO YOUR GRENADE SPAM KILLS FASTER.
  • BYPASS THE WINDOWS NETWORK STACK TO MICSPAM BILLY MAYS CLIPS WITH INTENSE EFFICIENCY.
  • ALL THIS WITH NO BANDWIDTH IMPACT TO YOUR FURRY PORN TORRENTS.
[li]IT HAS THE POWER TO PULL A FULLY LOADED 18-WHEELER.  NOW THAT'S THE POWER OF KILLER GAMING NETWORK CARD!

...

Mocking aside... once I saw the iron K on the PCI board, I didn't know whether to post this in Computers or the Humor thread.  If it has already been discussed (i searched!), sorry, but I just tripped on this... gem.  A tricked-out NIC?!  No!  No no no for fuck's sake what is wrong with you people.  I also wonder about a dedicated network processing unit; I can buy that on sound cards, maybe, but on a NIC?  Is this bullshit or is this a legitimate workload distribution helper?
NiceGuy has one. Ask him. Smile

Oh, for the love of God.  With the K thing?!
lolwut?  At home i'm using a 5 dollar NIC after the one in my motherboard burned out.
lol, killer nic's came out like 2 years ago
No. Just no.
Honestly, that would work for me
Yes, yes it would. It's not a piece of garbage at all. Spend your money on it. In fact, buy two, that way you'll get DOUBLE the speed.

Guess what would happen if you bought FOUR?
It is better then an onboard or cheap nic, but it's not $249 better. Most people don't need dedicated microcode torrent client running *inside* their nic.

If you're worried about your network card sapping your cpu, just get an Intel server-class adapter =/

I think the 'K' is either the most inefficient heatsink or simply useless and expensive bling.
Yea...cool stuff, but not $250 cool

I'd consider buying one if it was a more reasonable $100 - $125 if I was building a new rig.
Well, a NIC with an onboard processor is what we use in all our servers and routers like cisco and juniper use this as well to get their throughput to be able to handle enormous loads but for a normal gamer there is no need for this at all...

Damn it Ain, we were supposed to convince Vongore to buy one to fix his lag before telling him this.

If he wants better ping, he should move closer to the server  Tongue
NiceGuy has one because he got a 5-finger discount back when he was working for Microcenter.

Been trying to get one for a review for years now.  Bastards keep ignoring me.
I cant see how they made this card to send data faster....
I say you people all go with fiber.

Based on your recommendation I have purchased 3.  Can someone teach me how to make these into a RAID?
raid a network card?
easily done
