I hate it when people say this is overrated. I mean, this seriously is one of the best.

Except Majora's Mask because it's so much better. <3 I don't know where all the hate comes in. I love it.
whats the one with the flute that changes the season?

Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

They were on the original Game Boy, they both are sequels to Link's Awakening and both are pretty good games
nah ive played it before.. just love this game

sorry but majoras mask was one of the worst/most disappointing games ever made.  I havent played all the zelda games but im guessing its the shittiest out of all.

'Cause he's a pedo. Why else would he be in a forest full of eternal children?

Majora is alright, I just didn't like having to keep resetting things, bugged the snot out of me.

NES:
Zelda
Zelda II

SNES:
Link to the Past

GB:
Awakening
Oracle of Ages
Oracle of Seasons

64:
Ocarina
Majora

GBA:
Minish Cap

GC:
Wind Waker

Wii:
Twilight Princess

DS:
Phantom Hourglass

I wouldn't call any of those *BAD*, and excluding the CDi ones, Zelda II is most certainly the black sheep, but its not horrible by NES standards at all

I think most people will agree with me on this one.  The great thing about the zelda games is that they have amazing stories behind each episode, the whole mask scenario really just didnt grab me.  I relate it to watching a movie, if the story doesn't get my attention then I simply dont care and lose interest.  The fact that you had to keep going back in time every so often was extremely creative and at first i was impressed but it got old and annoying after a while.  The masks and characters were equally lame.  I just didn't like it, ocarina and other sequels entranced me and I WANTED to finish the game i WANTED to see what happened next, in majora I could give a fuck.

ain't no flamewar like a zelda flamewar, cause a zelda flamewar don't stop (don't stop).
Zelda games have always been "yeah okay" to me. Nothing that fantastic, but generally decent games.

i have always been a big fan of zelda games Smile

Indeed.  Though god I still have nightmares about Zelda II.  I never did beat that without cheating.  That last run is just fucking hard.  Lava pits everywhere, floating eyes, axe guys, lizard men, and then, THEN you get to the final palace.  Which is huge.  Don't go the wrong way.  And did I mention all the really nasty and fast enemies.  And then there's the ghost/wizard boss thing.  Then there's your shadow (which isn't that hard actually).  Oh, and you have three lives to do this.  Unless you kept all the dolls and go get them.
My thoughts (list stolen from caffs post)

NES:
Zelda-Awesome, it has the same feel as the original Metroid, where your exploring this vast world, completly guidlessly, figuring out where to go and what to do, almost totally on your own.
Zelda II-I have fun with it. Might have actually warranted a series of it's own, if it hadn't been a Zelda game

SNES:
Link to the Past-Fucking awesome, what more can be said?

GB:
Awakening-My second favorite Zelda. Epic story, awesome gameplay, every thing about it is win (especially the new dungeon in the DX version)
Oracle of Seasons-Another favorite Zelda that's tragically underrated. Fun world and cool gimmick, and if you take the time to beat both, the connected feature is pretty awesome
Oracle of Ages-Awesome as well, I just like OoS more

64:
Ocarina-See LttP
Majora-Favorite Zelda game. Love the masks and there different affects, and while the three day is kind of bleh, the masterfully crafted dungeons, and the amazingly creepy story (epically once you get on the moon) more than make up for it

GBA:
Minish Cap- I NEED to play this, heard it was fantastic

GC:
Wind Waker-Fantastic game, better than OoT and LttP IMO. Only thing keeping it back is the long as boat rides, which bothered me more than even MM's 3 Day shit.
Four Swords Adventure-One of the best multiplayer games, that was tracially hampered by the fact that it would take $400 + to get for people playing. If only Nintendo would make an online version...

Wii:
Twilight Princess-Never got past the third dungeon. It was such a huge world, but there was nothing to do in it, and it all looked the same. Plus the atmosphere just wasn't my cup of tea.

DS:
Phantom Hourglass-My third favorite Zelda, it's like a condensed version of Wind Waker, which is awesome.

:-*

Never liked the Zelda games though. The only one i played and finished is Minish cap

But i do agree that WW is better than OoT and MM. The thing is that people are still whinning because of the cel-shaded graphics

I don't. Contrariness five!

I am probably alone, though, in suggesting that Wind Waker was my favourite. But I measure it by it's plot, seeing as gameplay doesn't change a whole lot from game to game.
I LOVED Wind Waker, and the boat rides became incredibly shorter once you got the teleport stuff.
