Anyways, I haven't played TF2 in weeks, because my FPS finally dropped to the point that it's unplayable. Anyone have any recommendations as to how to boost it again? I've always run TF2 at below minimum settings, and can't afford an upgrade. I'm considering a reformat + reinstall, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

And, as we all know, BRBU is full of computer magicians.
Do you already play the game at dxlevel 81 or 71? If not, that might help you out a lot. In steam games list, Right click TF2 >> Properties >> Set Launch Options >> and enter
Code:
-dxlevel 71

Start the game once, and after that close TF2 and remove the line, it should be 7.1 forever and ever until you change it.
I play at 8.1. Further, my friend recommended that I just try to play the game, since I haven't played in over two months and my FPS might've changed.

I have 50 fps sitting, 20 in firefights now. o_o

If anyone can give me boosting tips still, that'd be great, but I can play with brbu again!

Finally!
Well it might help if you posted any information about your computer.  Otherwise what Duck said is probably the most significant thing you can do to make it run on a POS computer.
You can also disable ragdolls if you put this in autoexec.cfg

Code:
cl_ragdoll_collide 0
cl_ragdoll_fade_time 0
cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 1
cl_ragdoll_forcefade 1

Seems to help some people a lot.

Lol, I wonder if those stupid achievements work if you do that.
