then some dude bellyflops in and says something
and the people start brawling because of it

i want to put "no gaems", which now apparently includes the 360 for some reason

I was talking to my friend the other day with our nostalgia goggles on, we talked about games like kirby, diablo 2, age of empires and other classic games. Then we talked about how there aren't any good games out these days. Delegate all fps to the PC because buying L4D2, Bad Company, and Orange Box for the xbox is dumb. What do you have left? Single player games and family games, but no party games.
I wouldn't call halo a party game, I would call Super Smash a party game. But when games become out dated and nothing of substance replaces it, a console is left with the "no gaems" status.
I mean, I own 2 games for the xbox - FF13 and BlazBlue, and I spent like an hour shopping for a new game and then realized there wasn't anything I wanted to play that had substance.

seems games are designed to be all sizzle and no steak, a flash in the pan if you will.

along your lines of nostalgia, whatever happened to building a decent collection of games? With those cardboard and plastic cases you could store your cartridges in. Now the market is angled toward 'trade 3 (6 month) old video games and get this new one.

/gamestop marketing rant

Thats funny because it looks like you singled me out when there were like, 4 other people essentially pivoting their argument around "good".
And I would agree that most exclusives aren't that great and that the best games are cross platform anyway.

Also: MGS:R looks like a pretty fun hack-n-slash.

your post was the only one i saw critiquing, i wasnt going back more than a page

Yeah, I never turn in old games because I like to have them with me incase I ever want to relive them. I mean l4d2 was amazing when it came out and it still is, but its the same old song and dance if you will, if I want to play another multiplayer fps, I have a lot of options but... thats like saying you have a great variety of options between diablo 2, torchlight, and some other thing. What happened to the engaging rpgs of the past? Like final fantasy 9? Even FF: Crystal Chronicals has a really good story and its for the DS.

Some of the best games I ever played where on my PS2, just cus it's old doesn't mean it's bad.

mgs3, Kingdom Hearts 1 (never 2), Final Fantasy 10 (never 10-2)
During the school year I popped those games in to see if they weren't clouded by nostalgia goggles and they weren't. FF7 on the other hand, is a piece of crap now, hasn't aged well at all.

So those Deus Ex 3 videos are being put up and taken down pretty damn fast. If you really want to see them, best be quick.

Wow, it's official.

Re: The E3 2010 Thread - Maxon - 06-21-2010

Someone did point out that it is compatible to four players, so that means you don't have to buy controllers, so the pricing isn't THAT stupid.  I mean a Wiimote is 40 bucks a piece, plus 20 for the chuck.  Move wands are pretty similar.  Though normally, noteveryone would buy everything ahead of time, just so they are ready for 4 people.

Not that it matters since the launch games are crap.  Best to wait a year or so for a price drop.

i wish i had 3 friends

Re: The E3 2010 Thread - Maxon - 06-21-2010

Certainly doesn't work for me, with zero friends to hang with.  Cause what I want to do is to pay 200 dollars to paddle down a river and bowl by myself.  FUN!

Re: The E3 2010 Thread - Squishy3 - 06-21-2010

I remember reading that the Move wands if you're playing games that have use of both the main controller and the sub controller, you can't play 4 players with them because the PS3 can only register 4 controllers, and the sub-controller for Move counts as an extra controller. Good job, Sony.

I guess I was somewhat wrong on it, as the PS3 can apparently register 7 bluetooth devices, but you're ending up limited to 3 players instead of 4.
