Re: question for _________ - matter11 - 08-25-2011

I stumbled upon an unopened box of munchkin cards that was given to me for christmas a ways back. I vaguely remember it being mentioned somewhere in brbu so my question is, is it worth me and my friends' time?

Munchkin is really popular here at Geek Kon and John Kovalic is always a guest here. I haven't played it myself, but from what I've heard, it's worth your time.

YES

Also, If possible, try and pick up an expansion or two, but if you do, start off with 2 (Unnatural Axe), then 3 (Clerical Errors). You get fucked over on the new race cards if you don't buy in chronological order. Out of the three Munchkin games I've played, Normal, Star, and Cthulu, IMO normal is the best, plus with 4+ people all going for lvl20 with alot of decks in play, shit gets crazy.

I've played it a couple of times, and it's been somewhat enjoyable. However, at MAGFest, I got sucked into a game with a 300 lb man who had every single expansion and insisted we play "Epic" Munchkin. The game lasted 3 hours and was about as fun accidentally clicking on links from versus while you're at work.

Must've been his gravitational pull, 'cause I doubt he could physically catch and force you to play... In fact, I bet that would make a great trap card for Space Munchkin....

I've always wanted to try Epic Munchkin, at least with all of normal Munchkin, though I guess if you divided it into sessions, you could combine every main deck and expansion using the blender deck.

Re: question for _________ - at0m - 08-26-2011

Couple rules of playing Munchkin:

1) Don't play with just 2 people.
1a) Definitely don't play with just your girlfriend.
2) The more people the better. Two don't bother, three blows, four you're getting somewhere, five+ and its a fun time.
3) Put a pile of D10's in the box, so you won't have to sort that shit out every time you try to play it.

Re: question for _________ - Sogo - 08-26-2011

Shame there's no sort of virtual Munchkin we can all play together, seems like a good amount of BRBU'ers play it.

...there's a Munchkin plugin for LackeyCCG, I thought.

Really? I didn't know that, sounds hella boss to me, we might have to organize a game sometime.

Just look at the number of stars under the person's name.

5 = big boss/founding father/admin
down to
1 = the plebs

shut the fuck up Zaius, you're wrong
