True, but there's like 500 different SETI projects as well. The article specifies THE GOVERNMENT, but really all that could mean is some pencil-pusher's hobby work at Washington.

Simple. I'll eat metal pieces that fall from the explosion, and keep on activating and deactivating it as reentry starts to damage me. At least, I assume I eat the metal. Makes more sense than just stepping on it.
