H.U.D. Modifications - sk8mystery23 - 01-31-2011

Does anyone use these? Have any they might want to recommend? Or have a reason to use them or not to use them?

This article is the reason my interest has been piqued.

Re: H.U.D. Modifications - K2 - 01-31-2011

I use FrankenHUD. It doesn't change things up that much, but it has some cool features, like a nicer class select screen and avatars on the voice chat indicator.

Re: H.U.D. Modifications - backfire - 02-01-2011

Only hud mod I use is a bolder and brighter damage display over enemies, then a permanent display of my last damage done right next to my crosshair.

Other than this, hud mods seem like kinda pointless and just more like "changing things for the sake of changing them".

Re: H.U.D. Modifications - Versus - 02-01-2011

that's pretty cool

Yeah, FrankenHUD also does that.

Yeah, but they put the permanent damage display right above your health or something. It's much easier just having it right next to the crosshair, and the rest of frankenhud really doesn't change anything besides design. There's no real benefit to using that as far as I could see. It's just "different".

True. I mainly use it because it's a good middle ground between the normal HUD and the minimal HUD, and it's nice to change it up after using the same HUD for 3 years. Also I really like how whenever someone's talking it shows their avatar.

Interesting choice of who you killed, given a certain recent night...

Eh, what? He probably had it coming anyways. He tried making a point that dead space > kirby super star.

He totally deserved it. [Image: distrubed.gif]

Who the hell do you think you are? Loljk.

Anyway, I've been using FrakenHUD. It's rather nice. I wouldn't mind knowing how much damage I do to my enemies though. Suggestions?

The readme says you delete the folders you copied shit into, and the next time your start TF2 it'll automagically repair them.

This. Almost everything it changes is stored in the gcfs, so you're only actually overwriting a couple of small files.
