Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Versus - 03-30-2008

Still playing this game off and on since it came out in 2003. Tongue Hopefully some other people here have also played it. Smile

The main characters of the story, and the story itself, are pretty fucking gay. The character setup, planning, and gameplay, though, own.

I have it for the GBA, I liked it...but it wasnt as good as the one on the PS1

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Versus - 03-30-2008

I'm considering getting a PSP just for Tactics Smile

Worth it. They rewrote parts of the script for a better translation, with no change to the plot points. All in all they made the original Tactics better on the PSP.

I emu'ed this when it came out, and the inclusion of the "new" FF stuff(Viera/Bangga/etc.) ruined it for me. Calling the world Ivalice then having zero continuity with the first Tactics was absolutely terrible.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Versus - 03-31-2008

now, where to get a cheap PSP Tongue

edit: or an emulator...

Just wait for an emulator, the PSP is second rate at everything it attempts to do, poor MP3 player, poor movie player, poor mobile internet, semi-decent game player.

The only thing worth doing is hacking the piss out of the thing to play old SNES games, and you can do that with an M4 card and a DS just as easily.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Versus - 03-31-2008

I have a Supercard for my DS, so I'm covered there Tongue, I just want one for Tactics. >:3

earned you a smite

FFT on psp is the suck though , if you use abilities it causes noticeable video lag , like your guys waling on one spot .. their arms slow down. so you can tell its a system thing , not an on purpose thing.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - ScottyGrayskull - 04-02-2008

Never played FFT. I'd probably get into Disgaea before I get into FFT. I played that vicariously through my roommate (he'd play while I was on the computer or would be doing other stuff around the apartment), and it looks pretty sweet. Smile

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Vandamguy - 04-02-2008

disgaea or fft ?

i played disgaea for a while, untill i figured out that theres only one class to play and level up - my Majin named magus. got him up to lvl 3000 or so and then got bored

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Tragic Hero - 04-02-2008

FF Tactics never held a candle to the Tactics Ogre series.  Not only did I think Tactics Ogre handled the game play better but also had a better story filled with more depth and drama.  I would recommend playing Tactics Ogre:  Let us Cling together if anyone is a fan of the Tactics type game.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Vandamguy - 04-03-2008

tactics ogre acutally reminds me of ogre battle on the ps1. that game made me buy a ps1

Amen.  Its not even so much about the gameplay but the story in any Tactics Ogre/Ogre battle series is just more down to earth over the materia based, make believe fantasy story of FF.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Versus - 04-04-2008

Meh...there's a version for the GBA. I'll look into it.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Wedge - 04-23-2008

FFT (the original) is just a rebranded Ogre Saga game.  All the subsequent Ivalice games are more melded in with FF, being made much later.  FFTA isn't great... but I love having playable Moogle classes.  They're so adorable.

Also, Knight of Lodis is brokenly easy (MP Drain + Lich = God).  The original TO however, is hard as fucking balls.  I have a copy of it, but the PS1 port runs like shit, so I can't stand playing it.  I wish there were a translated version of the SFC original.

To be honest I ultimately prefer tactics games where you can't just grind and rape the shit out of them.  Like Fire Emblem.  And Rondo of Swords... is so awesome.

Shut up I know this is old.

Re: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Negate - 04-24-2008

So wedge likes his party members to die permanently?

Agreed that Lodis is broken but a lot of fun.  Lich isn't even the cheap part, all you need to do is make your main a Swordmaster and just give him every Int, Atk, and Agi card and nothing can hit him.  Even back attacks are blocked.Â
