The place for renting computers at Harvard is out, so hopefully my dad's going to let me buy a laptop...probably $750-1000, newegg preferred. Try to pick out one that can play TF2 Tongue

Dunno check the custom XP thread I just necro'd  I'm trying tiny xp revision 9 I think.  I'm going to look into the vanilla one though.

is new laptop running vista eh ?
chances are no
if you format vista off, it voids your warranty.
if you install XP , it wont have the drivers for things like your motherboard northbridge / southbridge. manufactureer will not provide you with XP drivers Tongue

welcome to vista, it's really not that bad.

Shouldn't the mfr still supply XP drivers for their laptop on their website?  Or because nobody is allowed to sell XP computers anymore, they'd wouldn't publish drivers for it now? =<

Just out of curiosity, why a laptop specifically? I didn't want to go off on a rant about how much I hate laptops for gaming without knowing some of the reasoning behind it.

I got a tablet laptop some years ago for my drawing, but I became quickly aware of how little it could do, and how few useful upgrades were available. I've FINALLY got back to a desktop and can honestly say I'm glad to be back.
