Ok, so I've mentioned before that I'm one of the head beta testers for the Half-Life DBZ mod "Earth's Special Forces".  I know most people's gut reaction is "DBZ GTFO!"  But hell, you guys had DBSource in the poll for mod nights once and someone (trace?) pointed out that ESF is much better.  Remember, this is HL.

Anyway, just wanna pimp a small vid the team put together to show off some new graphical features.

- Realtime player shadows
- Bump mapped textures
- HD skyboxes
- Pixel mapped terrain and water

Well it certainly looks cool. Unfortunately HL1 games have never worked on my computer properly :'(.

That's not in the current build (we just released the final version of the open beta a week ago) but it'll run just fine in the end.  Raven's pretty good at making sure the nutso stuff he does doesn't really beat up on FPS.  Most modern or near modern systems will run it with details cranked all the way no problem.  It is HL after all.  Gameplay is good as it's always been (wish I could show you one of our gameplay vids but it's not released atm).  Either way it's a lot of fun just to mess about in.

Gameplay itself is fast paced.  A lot of high speed ramming hits followed by energy attacks, signature beams from across the map, various character based attacks that tend to be a little sneaky and unique, etc.

open beta is out now.  Some minor bugs, but totally playable.

well, it'd be outdated since we've added a ton of features like a dedicated swoop button,  energy pulses (hold charge then hit block), which push people significantly weaker than you away, beam targetting (for gen beams and balls, hold secondary fire while keeping the target in the crosshair - same for beams to initiate power struggles), you can pump power struggles by charging up another attack during the PS, the closer the center of the PS is to you the more power is added on your side, 1.2.3's advanced melee is gone, buddy system for ginyu is more functional and complete now, you can switch into the buddy....I think that's most of the changes Tongue
