FNF 2009/02/05 Pre Post - ScottyGrayskull - 02-05-2009
Righto. In keeping with the idea of opening up FNF, and expanding what I started in the Destructoid forums last week, I'm opening the door for game ideas. The standard TF2 and L4D will be there of course. If you are interested in a specific game mention it here and I'll promote it in the FNF post both here and on Destructoid! (I'll lock this post when the proper fnf post goes up)
Keep in mind however that you must:
- be willing to organize players together for games, hosting if possible
- give appropriate contact info so people can get a hold of you (steamID, etc)
- be open to the possibility of people you may not know get a hold of you to play said game
- preferably have a plan in place, other than "let's play <x> game!"
Currently, Bloddylip from Dtoid is still interested in hosting Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. However given the response last week he is open to giving Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory a go. He'd much rather play QW however, as according to him W:ET is pretty much TF2, where as QW is something different.
Also, keep the shitting on other people's game choices to a minimum please.

#1 I never played ET:QW, but RTCW:ET was fucking sweet, and in no way comparable to TF2. RTCW:ET had some great assault maps, while TF2 has much more cartoonish gameplay around more close to 50/50 maps. Both are very good IMHO, but different.
#2 For those who don't know, there is a lot of pre-planetside saturday activity that seems to start on friday nights and spill over into saturday morning, afternoon, and evening.

W:ET is nothing like TF2, except for the fact that everyone has high health compared to most other shooters. At least in W:ET the pyro sucks ass and the soldier gets one shot every 30 seconds. I played QW and it feels like a bad sci fi mod for Wolfenstein. The only thing it has the Wolfenstein doesn't is vehicles that handle terribly and are made of cardboard.

For anyone interested in highlander for TF2, when you load the map, admins should be able execute a highlander class config, it may require that everyone go spec first, or switch between a team and spec since class limits reset on map change.
The current highlander config limits to one of most classes and 2 of soldier, scout, medic, or engineer to accommodate for 24 - 25 people.

 The gameplay is pretty basic and gets boring after a while, but it'd be totally awesome  DMC I can take or leave, really. Never cared for the original quake guns. Always preferred Q2/3.In fact, I just installed both of them.
