And this game has become a tad boring

Own two major towns and a couple of castles and fiefs and sad to find out that there isn't much I can do to upgrade my towns and cities.  I think only one of my cities went from poor to average in the span of the 265 days ive played in the game. 

It also seems hard to find a place that sells premium weapons and armor.

Maybe this is where the game lost points in the Meta score on Steam

Play one of the mods

I recommend either Native Expansion (If you weren't playing that already)  or The Eagle and The Radiant Cross (18th century style, meaning guns)

This has happened to me many many times.  Every time the faction sends their armies (one of which was their king) and I hop out, destroy them, cap the king and throw them in the same dungeon as the noble they were begging for.  This lead to me having 3 or 4 kings locked up at one point.  They never learn either.  Once the ransom is high enough I release them, then they do it all over again in a hundred days or so.  God I love this game.

Oh man
The Nord king wants me to become his vassal and is going to give me a town that is 2nd in loving me (First is Kwynn :3)
But I'm not sure whether I want to join the Nords, Swadians, or make my own little faction.

Swadians rule.  Even against Rhodoks (difficutly isn't above 50% though) my army of me and 25 Swadian Knights mow through them like butter.  Go join them if you aren't going to make your own faction

I'm in the swadians, the knights really do pull their weight.
