[/quote]true story.  thankfully a guy in my hall had like a pack of 100 so i managed to stay stocked through the year.  Also, get rid of the barrel attachment, it slows down the darts.

I finally broke down and bought one, going to see exactly what I can do with this thing as far as spring replacement.

Drill out the restrictor and tape over the 'regulator' vent. Also use electrical tape to build a spacer on the spring.
Your Recon is very similar to my Raider, sans some of the mechanics for the access door.

Also, find a Raider drum mag, it's awesome.

I was thinking of straight up replacing the spring.  Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, I've got the Recon as well. Drop the barrel and all those forward attachments. Keep the stock though, nice place to keep an extra mag and balance the weight. See if you can make a harness for it, an army friend of mine made me a 3-point sling (actually, I think it might have been 2-point). Oh, and if you have more extra mags, I taped two together upside-down to speed up reloading (kinda). Also looks cool if you tape them at an angle.

EDIT: Oh, and disassembling and reassembling this thing is a bitch and a half. Took me two hours to put back together after stretching the spring.

If you can find one thats the correct size and length. Make sure it doesn't coil bind or you'll jam the action.

We use Airsoft in our dorm. It started off with a simple handgun, then it went to shotguns and P90 clones. I'm looking at a M4 replica with laser sight for this year

My cats steal (but won't eat) my darts, as opposed to pellets which hurt my feet and can hurt my cats. I'll stick to darts.

That doesn't stop me from _owning_ an airsoft pistol though. I've got a clear Desert Eagle, that I used to use to play CTF with friends in the forest preserve behind my parents' house.
