Ah, a 4th gen Prelude, one of the cars I was after when I was looking.
Did you get the S, Si, SE or VTEC model?

Uh, no special badging which according to wikipedia means it's the standard run of the mill prelude for Canada.  Still has a better engine than half the other ones, oddly.  Dunno why they chose to put the F22A into the basic package and H23s into the other ones :\  Only the VTEC model has a better engine, and only by ten horses.

EDIT: Nvm someone edited wikipedia wrong, I do have the super-wimpy engine.  Essentially I have an S HeK.

Damn Honda and their different badging across the world. It's the same with the Civic Si/SiR/SiG...
It's kinda odd that they make an engine with such a low compression. 8.8:1 is very low for naturally aspirated. Hell, my EJ257 I'm working on is 9:1. That F22A may be a decent target for a turbo or supercharger project. Tongue

K I was wrong, washed the car today and noticed it has a super faded SR sticker below the Prelude badge.  The gascap also says it uses 91 octane, which according to the owner's manual is also the fuel for the SR.

So my car is slightly more awesome than I thought, h23 engine if I recall correctly, and performance 2nd only to the VTEC version.

Check your VIN, see if it contains either BA8, BB2 or BB1. Does it have four-wheel steering?

I don't believe it has 4 wheel steer no, will check VIN tomorrow probably, or later tonight.  According to wikipedia the SR model came with both 4ws and 2ws, while the SR-V had only 2ws as an option.  Odd.

Unrelated, but my old man had a 4ws Prelude for a time. Donuts in a 2 lane street ftw!

It popped up on some cars in the 80's and 90's. Nissan had it on some of their 240SX and 300ZX models. Don't know how well it worked on a Honda, but the Nissan version was a menace. It was meant to turn all the wheels in the same direction for lane changes, and opposite direction for turns. It got confused often, leading to 'unexpected results'.

4WS for lane changes would be brutal.  Just went and quickly checked, it does have BB2 I believe.
