You ever have one of those moments where your father looks at you and you can just see the disappointment in his eye.
Yea, I just had that after telling him my grades. |

You ever see your grandfather, the man you loved the most in this world, piss on the floor for two days in a row? You could see the embarrassment in his eyes.
Rest in peace, my Pop-Pop, veteran of WWII and the Korean war. *I* should put up a memorial. (why am I always putting this thread into proper perspective?) |

Actaully know exactly where you are coming from Rum. I lost my grandfather to Brain Cancer last year, and his last few months were brutal.
Seeing the man who I thought could do anything, thought would never die young, have to be drugged up, and not even remember his only grandsons name, and have to be attended to around the clock, It hurt me. I can still remember the last time I saw him, before he passed. He couldn't move, or basically function, but he looked at me and I could tell by his eyes that he was trying to call me my nickname to him "Jonathan Seagull the Third" and tell me not to fuck up in life. Damn that was hard to write |

My grandma can't see, can't hear and can't think. But she is still very much alive and kicking. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing anymore.

I'm scared that my grandparents in new mexico aren't going to be around for much longer. My grandfather's dementia is getting worse every week and my grandmother's eyesight isn't improving.

I've been watching my father slowly die of cancer for the last three years. He couldn't attend his own father's burial at Arlington (WWII vet), because he started his fourth different kind of cancer treatment that day. One of the few things that I've been able to do for him since I came out to the East Coast was to represent my family (the six of us from the Midwest) at that funeral. I feel terrible for not being able to be there for him, but it's been dragged out so much I feel like I have to keep on moving on with my life regardless.
<3 Rummy, your grandfather's in a better place. We can pour one out for him next time we meet up. "If you want to be a Double E, bend over and grab your knees...." "Atom is Sexy!" <-- Donate your own pic to the cause! Victory needs no explanation. Defeat allows none. -Sun Tzu |

Found out my roommate who puts my dog into his crate at night usually (I got up and played some games on the TV and he started whining, so I let him out) didn't notice there was poop in the bed we keep in the crate, so it looked fairly old and I just threw the damn bed out, tomorrow I get to wash the crate and give my dog a bath and yell at my roommate for not noticing the dog was hesitating to get into the crate. (that's how I found it)

Reading this thread makes me realize that I really shouldn't bitch about half the things I do bitch about.
Because there's worse shit that could just as easily be happening to me. And then I figure I might as well prepare for the shit that eventually will happen to me. And then it's a vicious, depressing circle. My condolences to loved ones lost, because we're all going to be there at some point. 'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'

I ordered three books online for classes, only one has arrived and it was in an empty torn envelope. I don't even know which book it was to file a claim or to file a lost and found request with USPS. Also Gmail won't finish loading for me. Today is le-suck.

Went in to pick up my paycheck after given a week off because it's the "slow time at work. With an amazing stoke of vagueness and cowardice, I was informed that there's no work, but they'll "definitely call me at some point".
It can't be that hard to just tell a guy he's laidoff, is it? Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. -Albert Einstein |
