So there is this guy in law school. We call him blue. He is 68 and was about to graduate (I will get to that in a bit). He was a doctor and ran into some legal trouble and I guess he can't be a doctor anymore. We looked up his case and it has something to do with a mistake while intubating an elderly woman that left her dead, then the hospital he worked at filed a complaint against his license. Then he sued for attorney's fees or something, I dunno the case history was confusing and only the suit for attorney's fees was published. Anyways blue goes to law school and attends a lot of stuff. He regularly runs with the professors (an event my favorite prof puts together). He plays the trumpet at events. He joined the law fraternity. He showed up at a music event with the dean to sing bawdy songs. Also he hits on some of my classmates, you know lower-classmen. Basically dudes a baller.

Today he was banned from campus as a trespasser. No one knows why yet. But he didn't show up for the class he has with us and presumably can no longer sit for finals and therefore graduate unless it gets lifted in the next couple weeks. My realistic guess is that it's because he uses the facilities to clean himself and whatnot. Did I mention he was homeless? Yea he lives in his car, by choice. He also has a gym membership.

TLDR: some dude at my law school needs to have a movie made about him
I had to read a book about the homeless for Urban Soc, apparently many homeless people have cars and gym memberships, they usually use the gym just to shower and stuff.

Kinda sad  :/

I hope you realize just how many people who are homeless, have chosen to be as such...
Why? I mean I can see some due to like drug addiction and stuff they could have helped... but other then stuff like that I do not see why they would.
Well, first of all, it's cheaper.  Second, some people just enjoy mobile lifestyles or at least a lifestyle where you aren't attached to things.  When all that you own has to fit in a car or a bag, you can't afford to get attached to every little thing, and the stuff that you do have means that much more to you.  That's the way I see it anyway, although I admit I've never been homeless.

There are some around here at university, some are scheissters and you can tell.

I went to go visit my friend at SIU three weekends ago and when we got there we played his favorite game...spot the homeless person. In the end we saw over a dozen homeless people in and around Carbondale.

lol @ hearing a speedbike somewhere semi-close really opening it up like crazy-sauce, then hearing the engine noise just *stop* combined with a very loud single tire screeching with a side order of a police siren whoop-whoop.

I must be retarded, because I honestly didn't see that coming.

This is actually better then most of the ST movies. At least all of the odd-numbers, and some of the even numbers after six.

And the rabbit hole just got deeper.

Or maybe shallower. Not quite sure.

Edit: Shit has either hit the fan or is about to hit the fan. This is not good.  :-\

Found out what happened to no campus for old man. He continued to see previous patients of his (husband and wife) on campus. They were indigent and apparently couldn't afford care elsewhere. He also apparently prescribed the husband pain medication for a back problem only correctable through surgery. This couple had a criminal background from a ways back though and I think the school really did not like them on campus and really did not like him seeing patients on campus.

That sucks.

I really don't see anything wrong with that given the illuminated part of the situation, just an old guy helping some people in need.
