University of Florida College of Education: where they've built up a massive backlog of many computers full of data that no one cares about, yet security concerns demand that all such data be overwritten with random 1s and 0s.  I respect the idea behind it, but it's still quite silly.  Unless they're hiding something...

[/quote]Its typically more cost-effective to simply physically destroy the drives, rather than pay someone to run data-erasure programs on them. Especially since most of them are crap.
