Obscure HL Mod Thursday 5/15

I should be there tonight. Im downloading hidden right now. I haven't played many mods before and i probably wont know what im doing but im looking forward to it nonetheless.

Mod night is hella fun, don't worry yomanz usually no one knows what they are doing.  Part of the fun is discovering a new mod with everyone else.

Also I think this mod may only support 9 people, of course 9 (steady with people dropping in and out) was all we had last week so it could work out.

We can try for more than one server.  If someone can get a hold of mongoose we can lock up one server for the hidden, and if someone can get a hold of duck that'd be two!

Vandam might host a game as well.  With only 9 per server its probably going to be a couple groups, depending on how many want to play.

Hidden is pretty meh.  Zombie Panic is way more fun.  I nominate it and Dystopia for next weeks mod.

Hidden is very interesting, it can be very fun and it can not.  It really depends on who the hidden is, and how good you are at the hidden yourself.

Was fun the first couple of maps until the server was restarted with a new password and the circumstances a bit odd... After that with the Hamachi deal and the other server it really wasn't actually playable on my end but can't do anything about geography so didn't and won't whine about that. Cool peepz.

Good game, if sometime I feel like skipping another night and game at 2am on a weekday I might! Now off to be a zombie at work.

So, I setup a user on captainmorgan with just enough permission to upload files to its web directory. You'll have to have a program that can SSH (or SFTP, which is just FTP over SSH) such as WinSCP or SmartFTP 3.0 (older versions of SmartFTP don't do SSH.... fail). This just seems like it will be much easier and less painful than Uploading the files to different sharing sites that require a dozen inputs to upload/download a file.

You can log into captainmorgan.mit.edu

Username: iamnotfuckduck
pass: same as TFT/FNF server password

You can upload videos/demos that way, and then provide a link here for other folks to download.

Please note, if you are going to download/upload large files, check Gametracker to see if a game is currently underway. If there are folks there, you'll ruin there fun, and then I'll have to learn how to throttle bandwidth for openssh-server. Not fun for me.

You can also create another directory if you want to upload something that isn't videos or demos, but please don't be retarded about it. If this gets abused, I'll delete the user.

edit: Hmmmm, my demos are all screwed up for this as well. Now that I think about it, Vandam, you remember how my Noompsie demo was all laggy/jaggy? Were your demos for PVKII like that, or were they smooth? I'm thinking somewhere along the line something about my HL2 demo recorder got broken. Perhaps I should just reinstall and see if that fixes my demo-recording for future games.
