Any of the primary gunlocks for the magrider. Stock gun is best balance between AV effectiveness and AI blast radius.

Any of the secondary gunlocks for the magrider EXCEPT for the AV laser cannon. Traditional weapons are all crap, and the plasma cannon has a super slow projectile, low DPS, and not a very large blast radius. Laser cannon has zero blast radius, but projectiles travel fast enough that sniping infantry is doable. Plus if the driver has an AI cannon it's not that big a deal.

The two machine-gun attachments for the Flash. The HMG is crappy, the LMG is crappier. Use the Fury launcher.

I'm pissed off I spent money on them.

I've had great success with the anti infantry primary cannon on the mag. Large increase in blast radius for a relatively small decrease in AV damage.

I do agree that the laser gun secondary kicks ass though.

The heavy AV launcher, the one with lock on.

It's much better to get the one with AA lock on, and then just dumb fire for AV.

I disagree, I think the AA launcher is useless when you could be running dual Bursters, which should have higher DPS, esp against ESFs.

The AV launcher does slightly more damage, that being said I have both and almost never run with AV and almost always regret it when I do. You can use AA against vehicles, AV is useless against planes.

The AA on the Scythe is pretty meh. I think the rocket pods are a far better investment.

I honestly wish you could selectively disable the lockon on the AV launcher, because on several occasions I've wanted to either selectively lock-on or dumbfire a wounded target rather than lock-on to the closest (undamaged) MBT.

Then again I haven't tried hitting the change fire modes or disable weapon add-on button while on it so maybe that's an option. Hell, I didn't know that Shift held your breath while firing sniper rifles until last night.

The fun bit is that I was getting really good at compensating for the breathing anyways, was just getting frustrated after I upgraded my scope to 10x because the drift is much worse :V Plus double XP for headshots.

Dumb firing against retreating targets is almost impossible though.  I want the kill.  I just never have issues with aircraft as infantry.

The Hades just tears up Lightnings which are usually agile enough to avoid dumb fire. And like Karrde stated, getting that satisfying finishing shot on a retreating target is much easier with lock on.

Heavy armor is much more threatening to infantry than air, so using the Hades makes sense to me.

I can't say whether or not the AA launcher is better than the Hades or not since I haven't used it, but I don't believe that the Hades belongs on the "not worth it" list at all.

Scliencers for almost all weapons you plan on engaging enemies beyond 25-50m or so. You will literally reduce your damage output by half, especially since vanu's weapons dont have bulletdrop (so that downside to scilencers doesn't apply).

Using it on a semi-auto sniper meant any target that wasn't in direct close range took over 5-6 body shots to take down, normally 2-3.

I'm sure it works fine in super close range though. But really not worth it for any level of engagement that is (say) across a courtyard or more.

Did some math today. SoE historically always does a one-day triple SC promotion on one day in december, if it isn't on xmas (more if you get a card at like wallmart or something where you get 500 bonus SC).

A membership costs $15, which gets you 25% (raising) xp boost and 500SC per month (effectively making the "cost" of the membership closer to $10/mo).

Instead of the membership, you could spend that $15 twoard SC on a triple promotion - this translates to 4500SC. 4500SC is enough SC to buy 2 (or so) months of constant 50% xp boosting, not counting the 500sc you'd hypothetically get with a membership, which certainly beats out on the one month of SC boosting you get that is only equal to 30%. Not to mention, because its SC, you don't have to constantly boost if you don't want to - you can buy guns, get camo, etc. So there is more freedom of choice with how much XP boosting you want (good for certs) to how much you want to spend on weapons (which indirectly is good for certs too, as you don't have to spend certs on weapons).

Now lets say you want a year long membership, which costs $10/mo or $120, paid in full. Instead of getting that, you could get $120 worth of SC on a triple day, which equals out to 36,000SC. That's enough SC to last for 72 week long 50% boosts, AKA 18 months of constant boosting (and lets be honest here, its unlikely you'll find yourself constantly playing this week by week for a whole year, so now you can spend you boosts on when you actually are playing in the year), which is over 1.5 years of 50% XP boosting.

"But what about the 500sc you get each month for being a member korjax?!!"

Good question! 500sc is how much a single boost costs, so to be fair to the membership, we'll see how much value you get with spending $120 on a year long membership or $120 on SC during a triple day. 72 weeks of straight boosting with the SC on a triple day, so let's take out 12 weeks worth of boosts (500sc) for what you'd get by being a member. You still win out by just paying the cost of a membership in SC on a triple day. If you save 500sc per month to spend on what you want (just like in the membership), you still get 60 weeks, or 1.25 years worth of constant 50% xp boosting that you can choose when to activate (so if you don't play for a few months, you aren't "charged" for not taking advantage of that time).

Moral of the story: Membership is nice and all, but you get a lot more SC and XP for your dollar by just paying for the equivalent cost of your membership in SC on a triple day. The only advantages a membership has over straight XP boosting with lodes of XP then is priority que, which to be honest, hasn't been a major problem for me (I've only ran into a que a couple of times, and this is the release month of the game). I guess you also get a resource boost, but resources are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things (plus if you want, you can buy a resource boost as well).

That said if you are a richass motherfucker you can stack a membership boost with an XP boost to effectively get 100%xp boost.
