I tried to do the same production I'm attempting now last year and it also fell apart on the week of shooting. It bums me out because I felt so prepared this time around and yet still the carpet was pulled from beneath me. On the plus side, I've got another script to put into my vault that I can use later, but it kills me to see this project fail a second time. |

Sometimes you can acclimate a little crowd of eager beavers who have nothing better to do but their skills aren't entirely refined, so you have to put on a sort of coaching hat when you try to produce your own content. But don't give too much away and remember to let go of your film as well, as there will be many different creatives working on your crew, some may have good and some may have bad ideas. It's sadly up to the director or producer to make sure the right ideas are heard. Too hip for gangsters and too gangster for hipsters. |

"Oh use the Sony NEX 7, it's got similar video quality to a 5D, especially when you use these kick-ass lenses" But they didn't tell me they didn't have an adapter for those lenses. "Use the other lens kit" Except we won't give it to you because lol sophomore level class despite the fact I'm a fucking senior. "We won't give you a shoulder rig, but we will make sure there are handlebars on your matte box!" SO WHERE ARE THE FUCKING HANDLEBARS? FUCK IF I KNOW. CHRIST. IF GOD DIDN'T WANT ME TO MAKE THIS MOVIE, THIS A FUCKING SIGN. |

god wants you to wear a hat
also i learned that baader-meinhof is the proper term for that phenomenon :-X 'Meditation is supposedly the only way to Enlightenment because the only way to find this truth is through inner reflection - therefore, what you are finding to be the truth in your personal journey should ultimately be exactly what I find to be the truth, though all of our journeys are unique.'

My giant head claims another headset.
I should really just get speakers and a desk mic at this point. |

I was able to get repairs done to my car after someone fucked up my hood (likely with a trailer hitch) by backing into me. It was also in the city when there was a metric fuck ton of snow so I didn't bother taking it in for like 3 months.
And I walk back to my car today to see a large goddamn scrape on my rear bumper. First world problem and everything, but things like this get under my skin. |
I know sometimes they can give you more if you can prove that you maintained/serviced it.
We can, to the point of still being under manufacturer warranty (obviously those don't cover crashes), plus a couple of things were not listed on the appraisal (little things but from manufacturer can cost at least a couple extra hundred like an auxiliary audio input and bug guards on the side windows, they seem like nothing but can make a bit of difference). I'm meeting with the appraiser today, going to TRY to talk him up a bit, I may or may not get more. I MIGHT also be able to convince him because the only cars we seem to be able to find within budget are at least a model year older. There have been comparable sales of cars in the area within the range that they're planning on giving us though (and their offer is in between the highest and second highest sale recently), so it may not be possible.
