Yeah I'm jumping on the Aussie wagon for this.

Trees anywhere else can't do shit, but in Australia, certain trees can inflict tremendous pain for weeks and months with small needles filled with a potent nuerotoxin, but do not kill the bugs and birds that eat the fruit. There has been one known human death caused by the most severe of the species.

They carry a specific venom called atraxotoxin, which, to put in to perspective, is like all of the worst toxins together(Necrotoxin, Neurotoxin, etc.). The longest anyone has ever lived is 30-45 minutes. Anyone small, like a child, can succumb within 15 minutes. They are a very small species and the males of the group are smaller then the females, but carry a better version of atraxotoxin. They love wet, dark places and are occasionally found in shoes. During mating season, the males are especially angry and like to wander around for a mate. The species are more known to attack then run away, and give multiple bites, emptying their entire supply of venom into one victim.

They also have a interesting breed called The Huntsman Spider, that can stay up on your wall for days(Sounds familiar),sending out signals(they make sounds using some vibration action) to interested females then, all of a sudden, disappear. The venom of the Huntsman can cause heart palpitations and can grow up a little below a foot.

Just a note here, the Huntsman spider isn't really very bad. Nearly all spiders that live here can make people have those sorts of symptoms. We have a heap of them around here...if you're quiet (and slightly lucky) they're fun to watch hunt.

Also, Africa has a few nasty succulents that have deadly poisons in their spines.
