Counter-Strike: GO

We all know its coming, but there's news about it, such as it having cross compatibility with PC and Console.

It seems to be mostly a refresh of the series than a sequel, to bring it back to light for people, by having features like matchmaking, skill ratings, and casual modes for people that want that it, along with new graphics, though it seems to play pretty much like CS use to.

Could be cool, but I'm more interest to see what the new stuff will be, such as the hint that there could be a role of bank robber in this.

Beta for it this October, so I guess I can manage to squeeze in a little time for it among the other game releases then lol

There are going to be ranked/unranked servers a-la EA/Battlefield with Valve being the only host of ranked servers. No community servers will be seen in this lol game because any non-Valve hosted/administrated servers will be unranked, and quite unattractive to play on.

Most of what I see for GO, is that it's trying to be a console experience first and a PC experience second. As long as the game is cheap, like 20 bucks or less, then I might consider it.  It's not gonna be worth anymore than that.  Matchmaking is such a pointless feature for the PC.

Heard somewhere that the ps3 version will have keyboard and mouse compatibility. Xbox'ers'll just play by themselves.

See my comment about people actually taking advantage of this, if you already have a gaming keyboard and mouse, you have a gaming PC, you aren't about to go out and spend $125 - 150 on a set, thats almost half the price of the console...

I'm still using this old gateway keyboard I got back from when I got my first prebuilt "decent" computer I dunno how many years ago "sometime after ep1 and several months before ep2. I can't tear myself away from this thing though. That lil indent the caps lock button has, the media buttons op top, the refresh, back and forward buttons on the right I programed to bring up winamp. Stickin with this till the day it dies.

I was looking at it. Played Cal-I way back in the 1.6 days for a couple seasons. When I heard that the hitboxes were still Source-sized, I grimaced a little. They were the reason our clan stopped playing when the league said they were swapping over with no legacy tourneys or ladders for the transition. Big faces reward pray and spray play, where in 1.6 you needed good gun control to successfully plink people.

I bought it, been playing the Beta.  I was never someone that cared about 1.6 to Source, I liked Source better.  I kinda wish they changed more, since people are gonna complain about the little things they changed anyways, so might as well do abit more, but it's mostly just Source, with abit better visuals, some new guns, and some minor tweaks, like removing silenced options, scopes now have alittle blur when moving, though people can still just do that annoying quickscope crap. It refreshed the game for me, though need the game to hurry up and release so people can take out the AWP's and Autos on servers.

I like it, I actually like the 5vs 5 matchmaking, perfect number of players for cs. If i want some killfest and shenanigans, I'll go look for the community servers. I don't give a shit about rank or not ranked, doesn't change a damn  thing to the gameplay, I can do with or without, but I'd rather do without whenever my roomate fucks up my stats.

A bit dissapointed about how hits register just like source, unloading 2 clips  in someone's face, dying and realising you have done no damage, yet the walls are covered with blood. autosnipper rules all it's not even funny.

also find that taking out the silencers in favour of balancing is bullshit, terrorists have the fuckin AK 1 hit kill guaranteed on first shot, beats the living crap out of any silenced weapons T > CT.  Like the mag 7, fun to play with.

It's only in counter-stike that I ever get bitched on with illegitimate comments about me speaking french by some asshole I owned in demolition all-rounds long who then proceeded to ragequit

final word, new gametypes are exciting, they bring your typical gungames, and other classic styles with a kick to the table, without being a cod clone, Classic Counter-strike..... fuck I hate perks. I want my games to come down to skills, strats, little bit of luck and as little as lag as possible.
