[/quote]And what would that bring? GIMP would have a less shitty name? GNU Photoshop vs Adobe Photoshop. Still, people know Adobe. One costs $600 the other is free... it's not like something like Coke and Pepsi, there won't be any shitty President's Choice knock-offs of Photoshop or anything...

Plus I thought software copyright laws are different than regular trademarks.

Either way, I will continue to break their trademark guidelines, and laugh at them trying to avoid the inevitable. All while pirating every version of Photoshop ever made. 8)

The way it hurts them is that it ceases to refer to their product, so it no longer a part of their advertising. Like when you go buy a band-aid you aren't actually looking for band-aid brand adhesive strips. You are just looking for adhesive strips. They lose their most basic advertising tool. Same with rollerblades. Or dumpsters. I don't think it is always a negative, google doesn't seem to mind much that their name has become part of the lexicon. It probably helps give them traffic.

But with Adobe if they lost their trademark than photoshop would cease to be a way their product is differentiated. I wouldn't be sad to see it go, it's such a generic word to be trademarked. I doubt other companies would change their name to photoshop if Adobe lost it, they mostly just benefit from the fact that the term becomes generic and no longer about the market leader.

You know what, i'm kinda sick of this shit.

I said a bunch of stupid shit as an 11 year old on what could be conceived as the internet at the time. I think i even had a geocities page about sarcastically killing bill gates because my family owned the first performa model and i thought i was hot shit.  And you know what, if i ever successfully spawn i'm sure i'm going to say irrelevant shit in protection of said offspring.

I'm over making fun of the old and the young on the internet.  Everyone deserves a chance to be stupid and they certainly don't deserve to be harassed about it.

Even Karth is maturing a little.  He can rent R rated movies now you guys!!! <3

I've often wondered if a little hazing over the internet is enough to get someone to consider what they said and maybe... try harder next time. I see it works for some people.


And that it totally doesn't work for others at all. So, I guess, there's that.


I know it worked for me when I was first online. Mostly with spelling, since I did a lot of online RP games and such. But it helped me out somewhat.
