Hi.

I have a bit of a problem.
I have tried to open up the console on the game menu, but I nothing happens.
I have switched it on, in the settings, but still nothing happens when I press ' button that is linked to opening the console.. any suggestions?

Thanks :-D

Did your bind for Toggle Developer Console get overwritten, perhaps?

Also... this'll be weird, but check to make sure you don't have a remote control receiver plugged into a USB.  Like, uh, one for Media Center or something.  I don't know about TF2, but that does prevent console from opening on Oblivion.  It's like it overrides what ` / ~ means on the keyboard or some stupid crap like that and the game doesn't see you typing it.

Go to options, then keyboard, then hit the 'advanced' button, if the box that says 'Enable Developer Console' was not checked, that was your problem. If it is checked, I haven't the slightest...unless the physical Key is broken.

I usually close the door, then open it again.  Push down on the cartridge, and try to jiggle it side to side.  If that doesn't work, use something narrow like a screwdriver to push the black cartridge carriage down then up again. If that doesn't work, you may need to open up the case and replace the springs, that is a common problem with early entertainment system models.

OOps, wrong thread.

Better yet, go in Game pannel of your steam account
Right click Team Fortress 2
Properties
Set launch option...
Type in: -console

Your console will open upon game startup!
