And then play a game against bots. This is not a game where you can ask the community for help because it takes too much time to explain. Play at least 3 games with bots before going on (and go mid since laning with them is retarded)

Re: Dota 2 - Trace - 02-10-2012

Yea the Dota community like all other moba communities is very unfriendly to beginners. If you play it's expected that you know what you are doing. For those new to the game I'd suggest a little pre game research. Look through the heroes and find one you're interested in learning and then go look up a guide for that hero on playdota.com or other sites.
This game isn't difficult to play in that you have to have uber reflexes, but it's difficult in the manner that you have to know everything about every other hero in the match you are playing. Most of the learning comes with time and practice but doing research never hurts.

never played a game against bots and i'm still the retard around brbu
[/quote]i havent played a game either but thats only because ive been playing dota since 2005/2006 when icefrog took over

the game obviously comes with experience, so a good start to said experience is with bots who wont swear at you every time you die which is what i certainly would be doing if i were to help matter out. so instead of being a fucking retard and an egotistical bastard, try having a bit of humility and help the nub out

dumbass.

Re: Dota 2 - chronomaster - 02-11-2012

Also a heads up; as much as you need to play a game with bots, they are bastards. Your team will suck, and the opposite team will rock. End of story.

Re: Dota 2 - Squishy3 - 02-11-2012

Someone on the enemy team picked Dragon Knight before I could, I pick Sven. everything went better than expected, including me making said Dragon Knight rage quit. (I also did this without a build in mind.)

We're so proud of you.

Re: Dota 2 - cbre88x - 02-13-2012

I just wanted to point out that Necrolyte is badass. Thank jaysus for playing random...I probably would have never played with that character.

Re: Dota 2 - Surf314 - 02-14-2012

My experience lately with this game has been either everyone yells at me for making the team lose, or I make the other team ragequit for being too good.

I dunno about you but I've only been queuing with friends and most of my games have been fairly even skill wise between the teams. Makes the games more enjoyable than having either of the polar opposites you've experienced, imo. We should have a Dota night or something

I'D BE DOWN FOR A 10 MAN IN HOUSE YO. Sign me up! I'll bring the beer.
If we need any other people for this let me know I know people that play too.

ALSO, wtf those pics look sick, even if I HATE Syllabear with a dying passion.

Yes, I find myself playing at least one or two matches a night. I love this game. Never thought I'd get into it. And I am a ton better now.

Re: Dota 2 - Vlambo - 02-15-2012

I'm still not in the fucking beta

Re: Dota 2 - Eschatos - 02-15-2012

Let me suggest that since it might be difficult to get 10 brbuers at the same time we should settle for 3v3s or 4v4s which could be just as fun.  Also someone give Vlambo a key already.

I don't know that I have passes. I checked after I got in the beta.
