Deadmau5 is great stuff, heard them before.
I've heard of Freestylers, never heard them...they're...kinda catchy, i mean, damn, the whole 90's vibe to them is swell.

And that chick is hawt.

hell yeah she is

I'll definitely be checking out some of these artists on last.fm though when I have some more time.

freestylers - push up
Bomfunk mc's

Also if you can get a copy you should check out an album called Old School Vs New School:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=772415E02A77ACF7&search_query=old+school+vs+new+school

Some of those aren't the album mixes but you still get a good idea of how awesome that album was.
I found a copy of that old school new school album.
torrenting nao

Also, Bomfunk Mc's....were they ever in a Tony Hawk or Matt Hoffman game?
I recognize the song so much but ive never heard of the group name.

Arm the Poor - Welcome to Misery EP
To download, you just click on the album art.
Also, pick up Fatter than Albert, the other Arm the Poor album, and the Curses album by Safety.
Such good albums.

Re: Music Recommendations - Professor Funbucks - 12-02-2009

Decent cover of the KiD CuDi song Day N Nite
Young Cash - Day N Nite by Kid Cudi Nappy Boy REMIX
maybe its a bit too "gangsta" rap lol
next up: Team Teamwork, a mashup artist that did a pretty cool album called Ocarina of Rhyme, completely free, just google it. here's a sample;
Team Teamwork - The Ocarina of Rhyme: Clipse - Virginia (Lost Woods)
and another from their album "Good-Ass Remixes"
Gucci Mane ft. Drug Rug - Pillz

they pretty much take mainstream rap and make it awesome.

Re: Music Recommendations - JoKeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - 12-02-2009

i wouldn't say aesop rock is really a good place to start for people who don't like rap

anyway mouse on the keys owns

and ive been listening to dextro their album Winded is supercool

Re: Music Recommendations - KarthXLR - 12-02-2009

Karth's music recommendations of various genres and songs to look out for. Tallyho!

Alternative
The Flaming Lips ("Do You Realize??" and "Race for the Prize (remix)")
Beck ("Loser" and "E-Pro")
Gorillaz (Do I even have to give a suggestion?)
The Postal Service ("Such Great Heights" and "We Will Become Silhouettes")
The Good, The Bad, & the Queen ("History Song" and "The Good, the Bad, & the Queen")

Relaxation Music
The Album Leaf ("We Need Help" and "Eastern Glow")
Sigur Rós (I'm sorry, too lazy to look up the song titles. They're really long. Sad)
Explosions in the Sky ("First Breath after Coma" and "Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean")

Alternative rock and straight-up rock
The Shins ("Sleeping Lessons" and "Saint Simon")
Neutral Milk Hotel ("King of Carrot Flowers Part 1" and "Holland, 1945")
The White Stripes ("Seven Nation Army" and "Icky Thump")
Radiohead ("Paranoid Android" and "Electioneering")

Electronica
Pendulum ("Propane Nightmares" and "Granite")

That's all I can think of right now.

Re: Music Recommendations - Surf314 - 12-04-2009

NASA is a pretty cool album by two DJs one from the US one from Brazil. The goal was to represent the ideals of hip hop and its cross genre appeal. Here is an amazing Music Video of one of the good songs:

N.A.S.A: Tom Waits + Kool Keith, Spacious Thoughts (BB Video)

Re: Music Recommendations - Surf314 - 12-08-2009

This thread needs some new life, maybe a change of genre. How about this band, they only have an EP out now but I already heart them:

Beautiful Small Machines -  Counting Back To 1 [HQ]

Beautiful Small Machines - Robots In Love
