So this game is pretty cool, but I was wondering are there more in depth tutorials for the commander mode?

Re: Nuclear Dawn - Dtrain323i - 10-03-2011

I played one whole round as commander the other day. Spamming sentry guns is definitely beneficial to success. But the trick is to place them in ambush spots. Also getting all the tech upgrades as quickly as possible is essential.

Supply depots.  Lots and lots of supply depots.

I also appreciate it when the commander tells us what needs to get done, cuz we get those sweet sweet +10 pts for following orders.

Do you have to step directly on a daisy cutter to make it blow up?

I think you just have to get close. I was exploiting the floating Daisy Cutter bug by throwing them so they were on walls and ceilings and I got a couple kills

Nope, but it doesn't look too ridiculously complex. I presided over an epic failure, but that was because the other commander ragequit when our base was getting bumrushed. I kept us alive for another 10 minutes before forgetting to drop a replacement/backup spawn and subsequently getting assassinated.

If you can run L4D2, you can run it.

Re: Nuclear Dawn - k0ala - 10-10-2011

It's harder to win as Empire. Consortium siege exos can arc their shots. Empire exos need line of sight. Consortium also has relay towers that fit behind the walls.

getting owned Sad

Re: Nuclear Dawn - Surf314 - 10-10-2011

Is there still gravity problems on our server?

Re: Nuclear Dawn - Chief - 10-10-2011

there's definitely imbalance between a whole bunch of things, but its fun to play, but after a while it gets to me

is there anything i can do to reduce some effects though so that i can actually play the game though without the muzzle flash screwing up my fps

Quoted for truth.

I love the game, but it seems like Consortium has the edge most of the time. I'm not sure if it's because of weapons or whatnot, but it gets to you after a while.

Re: Nuclear Dawn - HeK - 10-10-2011

Server took a dump again tonight, with a full 32 person load.

Re: Nuclear Dawn - k0ala - 10-10-2011

On the bright side, the gravity worked.

They probably hop onto an empty server with a friend, both go engie, and use their blowtorches on the same building for a couple hours :/
